Our city is working on getting them into all the police cars and public
spaces. They organized a campaign to have people donate the cost of the
AED's for specific places. One of the local Rotary Club donated one for
the library. So, if this is something you're interested in doing, it
does seem to be something that people are interested in supporting. So
far, knock on wood, we have yet to actually use ours.

Subject: [slm] AED's in libraries

Hi everyone,

TSLAC just had Automatic External Defribillators installed on every
floor and it got me thinking about other public spaces, such as
libraries. These are not cheap from the research I've done (atleast
2k), but might make a worthwhile grant proposal if your city/county does
not have plans to install them in the future.

Those installed at the State Library are wall mounted and from a company
called Cardiac Science. Might be worth looking into.

Here's a website that compares some of the major AED's for public use:
http://www.aed.com/products/

Thanks, Dawn
