James Karney in Waco sent the attached comparison of libraries in our state which was compiled in 2004. Thanks, James! Laurie _____ From: James Karney [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, May 24, 2007 9:41 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Limiting checkouts of library materials In reply to your recent post on the CTLS list regarding check-out limits, for Waco: Does your library limit the number of materials that a patron can check out at one time? Up to 65 items per card, but no more than 5 DVD/Videos. Do you limit by topic? (Example, only 2 books on snakes when you suspect the entire 5th grade is doing reptile reports) No Do you limit by format (3 videos or DVDs)? Up to 5 DVD/Videos at one time per card Also, you may be interested in this document, data was gathered in early 2004 when we changed check-out limits/length for DVDs and Videos and explored creating a Best Seller/High Demand loan period category. Has loan periods and format limits for many of the larger libraries in the state. <<Loan Period Comparison.doc>> James A.
