The TexShare Advisory Board is charged by statute to advise the commission on matters relating to the consortium (Government Code ยง441.226). Board members are appointed to 3-year terms, with terms staggered so that only a portion of the Board "turns over" each year. The new roster is up on the TexShare Web site at: http://www.texshare.edu/memberinfo/advisoryboard/advisory2007.html 1) Representative at-large: Kathy Hoffman, Director, Research Medical Library, University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. Ms. Hoffman has been active in TexShare since its inception. She served in a leadership capacity in the Texas Collections Working Group for seven years. She participated in the TexShare Strategic Planning Session, the TexShare Expansion Task Force, the Task Force on TexShare Database Fees, and the Statewide Resource Sharing Strategic Planning Session. Ms. Hoffman currently serves on the board and is serving a second term. Term to expire August 31, 2010. 2) Public library representative: Sheila Ross Henderson, Library Director, Pasadena Public Library. Ms. Henderson is a member of TLA, and was named the Texas Municipal League's Library Director of the Year in 2002. She is also spotlighted in the Library Director chapter of a book entitled Straight from the Stacks: A First Hand Guide to Careers in Library and Information Science. Term to expire August 31, 2010. 3) Private university representative: Evelyn Bonner, Director, T. W. Cole Library, Wiley College. Dr. Bonner is a member of TLA, the Texas Independent College and University Librarians, ALA, the Association of College and Research Librarians, and the Society of American Archivists. Term to expire August 31, 2010. 4) Public university representative: Joan Heath, Assistant Vice President, University Library, Texas State University at San Marcos. Ms. Heath is a member of TLA Executive Board and its Task Force on Executive Leadership. She is also active in the College and University Libraries Division, the TALL Texans Round Table, and the Texas Council of Academic Libraries. She currently serves as the EDUCAUSE representative for her institution, serves on the Amigos Member Council, and the TexShare Task Force on Database Fees. Term to expire August 31, 2010. 5) Community college representative: Kathy Fair, Director, Watson Library, Kilgore College. Ms. Fair is a member of TLA and serves on the Leadership Development Committee, is an officer in the College and University Libraries Division, and is active in the TALL Texans Round Table.
