DOCLINE Has a New URL

DOCLINE now utilizes SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) for communication between
NLM and users' browsers. DOCLINE libraries should update their Login page

National Medical Librarians Month 2007

The Medical Library Association (MLA) has declared October as National
Medical Librarians Month. Five medical librarians and their NN/LM SCR funded
outreach projects are highlighted.

 

WISER 3.0 for Palm OS Now Available

WISER 3.0 is now available for download to the Palm OS operating system or
via the web interface. Highlights of this release include tools/ reference
materials for radiological incidents plus nine new user-requested chemical
substances. 

 

Federal Mandate for Libraries Applying for Federal Grants

The American Library Association (ALA) recently announced that libraries
planning to apply for its federally funded library programming grants will
be required to apply through Grants.gov. This new mandate affects libraries
that apply for traveling exhibit grants and other grants that include a cash
grant component.

 

Milk Matters: The NIH Creates New Online Resource for Teachers

New online resources stressing the importance of calcium for bone health are
now available for middle and high school teachers. The resources are part of
the Milk Matters calcium education campaign, sponsored by the National
Institute of Child Health and Human Development of the National Institutes
of Health (NIH).
