Greetings Central Texas library community!
Please mark Thursday, November 29, 2007 as the date for the first
Stepping Up brown bag management lecture. Tommy Darwin, Director,
Professional Development and Community Engagement for the Graduate
School at UT, will speak from 12:45 to 1:30.
This event marks the first in a series of lectures sponsored by Dr. Lynn
Westbrook and the eight partner libraries of Stepping Up: Library
Leaders for the 21st Century <http://www.ischool.utexas.edu/%7Estepup>.
The lecture is open to the entire Central Texas library community, so
spread the word among your fellow librarians, paraprofessionals, and lay
folks. Plan to join us in Sanchez
<http://www.utexas.edu/maps/main/buildings/szb.html> 468 at 12:30 with
your lunch, and plan to stay after Tommy's talk to mingle and ask
questions, if you like.
We are also planning a tour of the new Blanton Museum
<http://www.blantonmuseum.org/> that day, starting at 2:00.
As the date approaches, expect more specific information about the
lecture, the museum tour, campus lunch spots, and parking.
Looking forward to seeing you in November!
