The National Network of Libraries of Medicine, South Central Region (NN/LM
SCR) announces new funding opportunities for health information projects in
Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas. Please see the NN/LM

for submitting applications is February 1, 2008.

Express Outreach Award,  <http://nnlm.gov/scr/funding/exp_outreach.html>
http://nnlm.gov/scr/funding/exp_outreach.html, up to $5,000 per project The
purpose of this award is to support a wide range of outreach projects aimed
at improving access to and use of National Library of Medicineb s websites
and databases (such as MedlinePlus, PubMed, Household Products Database,
etc). Projects may target groups such as: the general public, minority or
underserved communities, community-based organizations or faith-based
organizations (this is not an all-inclusive list).

Mobile Health Education Project Award (MHEP),

http://nnlm.gov/scr/funding/mhep.html, up to $6,000 per project The intent
of the MHEP Award is to provide health information outreach services using
mobile technologies, such as training in remote areas and underserved
locations. Projects may target groups such as: the general public, minority
or underserved communities, community-based organizations or faith-based
organizations (this is not an all-inclusive list). Funds may be requested
for a variety of items including: laptop, broadband card, projector,
printer, software, internet service provider fees, etc.

http://nnlm.gov/scr/funding/cda.html, up to $3,000 per award The purpose of
this award is to develop classes that meet the needs of the members of the
NN/LM SCR and to enable Network members with expertise to share knowledge
and skills with colleagues and enhance the NN/LM SCR education program.

All NN/LM SCR members are eligible to apply for the awards listed above.
Membership in the NN/LM SCR is free to any organization interested in
providing health information, including public libraries (for more
