Dear Children's Librarians,

I am very pleased to announce that the 2008 Texas Reading Club manual is
now online at <http://www.tsl.state.tx.us/ld/projects/trc/2008/> in both
HTML and printable PDF formats! The theme is "Texas Reading Club Jubilee,
1958-2008!", and Janet Stevens created the beautiful artwork. The manual
includes chapters with programs for toddlers, preschoolers, and elementary
school-age children. There are also chapters with ideas for bilingual
programs, science and math programs, and kick-off and end-of summer
celebrations.

The Texas Teens Read! manual is also online in both HTML and printable
PDF at http://www.tsl.state.tx.us/ld/projects/ttr/2008/. The theme is
"Game On! TTR.08" and Rod Espinosa created the artwork. It features
eight excellent programs about gaming for teens, including electronic
gaming, role-playing games, board games, trivia games, extreme sports, and
more.

A CD-Rom with both the Texas Teens Read! and Texas Reading Club manuals is
being mailed to participating libraries. The posters, certificates,
bookmarks, and reading logs for both Texas Teens Read! and the Texas
Reading Club will be sent to participating libraries by March 31, 2008.

If you have not yet ordered materials for the Texas Reading Club or Texas
Teens Read!, you may place an order at
http://www.tsl.state.tx.us/ld/projects/trc/forms/. You may confirm your
orders on the spreadsheet at
http://www.tsl.state.tx.us/ld/projects/trc/orderconfirm.html.

I hope that you enjoy both of these manuals as you plan your summer programs.

Best regards,
