The Round Rock Public Library is dissecting its huge circulation desk, taking a
piece of it to put onto a smaller circ desk and getting rid of the rest of it.
If you have a need for a desk, it can be taken away in pieces. It has a lovely
light oak exterior. The top has a laminate that does not look over used, but by
the time the desk is cut, you may want to do a new top anyway. Or, you can get
a professional to put a laminate on the laminate and put on a new wood trim.
The desks have about five work stations, with drawers, grommets, etc. Even the
frame of each work station can be used with other wood veneers added to dress
it up if you want a different exterior.

Let me know if you'd like a "piece" or more of the desks. They are designed at
seating height, with the desk overhang long enough to allow a wheel chair bound
customer to sit under it. The taller sections will be dissected for our use,
but about 8 feet of it will most likely remain.

Come on by and look at it. It will be dismantled and unavailable after
September 28, 2008, so get your "dibs" in now. Oh, a regular pick up should be
able to take each "module" to its new home.

We also have a low two-sided oak grain book shelf with metal shelves that will
no longer be used. We have moved all holds books out for public use, so this is
another piece of furniture that can go.

Thanks.

We were part of this program in our earlier years and it did provide quite a
few nice books on more modern artists. It is a great program.

I think I first found out about this program from the CTLS listserv,

however, there might be more that need reminding that this free resource

is available to rural or inner-city libraries--free art books! (See the

reminder e-mail below, which we got because we've ordered their free

materials last year.)

Dear Teachers and Librarians,

We wanted to remind you that our 2008-09 catalogue of brand new art

books is now online and available for browsing from the home page of our

website: www.ducprogram.org, If you have not yet placed an order with

us, we hope you will do so. If you have questions or need assistance,

please feel free to contact us-we are here to help! You may email us at

mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] or call us at (212) 255-2919.

For those who have already placed an order, you will be receiving your

shipment of books in the next few weeks-we are busy processing and

packing your requests at this very moment.

PLEASE NOTE: participants are limited to ONE order per program year (we

consider our June launch as the beginning of the new year). Although we

place no restrictions on the number of titles you may order, we ask that

you request only what you need. There is a huge demand for our

resources, and we want to make certain we serve as many schools and

libraries as possible. Due to the large volume of orders we receive, it

may take up to three months to process and ship the books you request.

One final reminder: the mission of the DUC Program is to distribute art

books to rural and inner-city public schools and libraries-therefore, we

are unable to fill orders from private institutions.

We hope you enjoy the books!
