Dear TexShare Member Libraries, We are pleased to announce that the Texas State Library and Archives Commission has approved the following appointments to the TexShare Advisory Board, with terms beginning September 1, 2008. The TexShare Advisory Board is charged by statute to advise the commission on matters relating to the consortium (Government Code ยง441.226). Board members are appointed to 3-year terms, with terms staggered so that only a portion of the Board "turns over" each year. The new roster is up on the TexShare Web site at: http://www.texshare.edu/memberinfo/advisoryboard/advisory2008.html 1) Public library representative: Larry Justiss, director of the Tom Green County Library, has served on the Joint TSLAC/TLA Task Force on Implementation of the Public Library Development Study, the TexShare Communication Plan Implementation Task Force, and the TexShare Card Program Working Group. Larry is a member of the Texas Library Association, serves on the Legislative Committee, and is active in the Public Libraries Division and the Automation & Technology Round Table. He was recommended for reappointment. Term to expire August 31, 2011. 2) Community college representative: Kathy Fair, director of the Watson Library at Kilgore College, is a member of the Texas Library Association where she's a participant in the College and University Libraries Division and the TALL Texans Round Table. She attended the TLA Leadership Institute (TALL Texans) in 2004. She was recommended for reappointment. Term to expire August 31, 2011. 3) Public university representative: Dr. Farzaneh Razzaghi, director of the University of Texas - Pan American library, received her doctorate in library and information studies in 1990 and master's in library science in 1980 from Texas Woman's University in Denton. She has been an active member of the TexShare Education Services Working Group since 2003. Dr. Razzaghi is a member of ALA and ACRL where she is serving on three committees. She is also a member of the Texas Council of Academic Libraries. Term to expire August 31, 2011.
