One of our fairly new member libraries has been asked about putting
library cards (NOT applications) in the initial packet her community
gives to new residents signing up for utilities. Her city manager says
he read about this in the ICMA (city management) journal.

 

She'd like to hear from any of you who may be doing this. Are you
putting library cards in utility bills? Applications?

 

I could see a library brochure and a card application, with a map to the
library, hours open, services provided, and a note saying "Please bring
this to the library to get a card." Your thoughts are appreciated.
