We have a library that is considering computers for children (younger
than 6th grade), but doesn't feel comfortable having children
unsupervised on real computers.
There was an excellent article touching on this last Sunday in the
Austin American Statesman:

gadget.html
But the computer it suggests for young users, PeeWee PC Pivot Tablet
Laptop, is $500. Little Tikes products have also been suggested.
I'm new at this -- could you folks share with the list computer ideas
that have worked well in children's areas?
