We're at the very beginning of our second round of the 23 Things Program, and we encourage you and all your staff to participate. What is the 23 Things? Here's the link to our 23 Things blog to explain : http://ctls23things.wordpress.com/ These are this week's activities: Week 1: Introduction : 1. Read this blog post to find out about the program and lifelong learning <http://ctls23things.wordpress.com/2008/10/31/1-discovery-and-lifelong-l earning/> . 2. Discover a few things you may not have known about your old friend Google <http://ctls23things.wordpress.com/2008/10/31/2-google-and-gmail/> and also set up a gmail account.
You'll be registering with me (and the program) next week when you create a blog and email me the web address. We encourage all of you to follow along with us during this 10-week program (9 weeks of things, and one week for wiggle room). If you're crazy busy this week, don't worry! You can always start at a later date and catch up at any time before March 22, 2010. I've updated only 7 things so far, but more will be activated this week and next. If you complete the program by March 22, 2010, you'll earn 12 hours of CE credit, and if you're staff at a CTLS member library, you'll also receive a free mp3 player or a $25 gift certificate (Best Buy) care of Friends of CTLS and the Tocker Foundation. Please forward this to any of your fellow staff to see if they're interested in participating, too. If you have any questions, I'm here to answer them. So let's get started!
