Did your public library have a bond election or referendum last year? The deadline has passed, but there is still time to be included in the national survey! Please visit www.LibraryJournal.com/referenda to complete the survey. Library Journal magazine is preparing its annual survey on library referenda and needs your help in getting an accurate account of library building referenda that took place in Texas from DECEMBER 1, 2008 to NOVEMBER 30, 2009. Any referenda proposed to finance capital improvements for a public library building within the above dates, WHETHER SUCCESSFUL OR NOT, will be included in the article. Please visit www.LibraryJournal.com/referenda to complete the survey online or print a PDF form to FAX. As the original deadline has already passed, Library Journal would appreciate learning of your library's referendum information as soon as possible. Please forward this survey request to any library where the community may have held a public referendum for the purposes of financing a public library. Library Journal's extensive analysis of referenda is published annually in the March 15th issue. To view the previous (2008) article, link to http://www.libraryjournal.com/article/CA6641648.html At this time, Library Journal has received survey information concerning the Huntsville (Walker County) Public Library and Webster (Harris County) referenda.
