libraries around Texas?
                Apply to join our dynamic team of five
librarian/trainers delivering continuing education and consulting
services to the state of Texas via traditional methods and innovative
distance learning technologies.  The Library Development Division
administers a variety of programs in aid in the development of libraries
across the state.  Take the lead in managing the direction and
curriculum of the Small Library Management Training Program, which for
over a decade has provided a program of continuing education geared
towards library staff in small, rural libraries.  This is your
opportunity to foster small libraries as a community of practice and to
become the small library guru of Texas!  You would also be involved in
training and coordination in other library services areas, sometimes in
a team capacity and at other times, on your own.  A variety of duties
will fill your day such as, scouting workshop locations, creating
content to deploy via webinar, consulting with librarians,
  posting to the Library Developments blog to market training, working
to develop content with contract trainers, participating in national
training programs and state library development initiatives.  You must
be self-motivated, willing to take on a statewide leadership role, have
the desire to train librarians with face-to-face training, as well as
embrace the breadth of new learning technologies to reach a wide
audience and have a great customer service attitude.  
                Minimum qualifications:
                Master's degree in library or information science from
an American Library Association accredited program.
                Library experience planning and/or delivering services
to clients.
                Experience in the design, production, and evaluation of
training, training materials or bibliographic instruction
                Ability to plan and manage continuing education projects
including analysis of outcomes data to formulate conclusions and to
guide direction of future programs and services
                Ability to work well with individuals and groups both at
TSLAC, as well as other organizations around the state to realize
statewide initiatives using new and existing resources
                Ability and desire to teach and speak before groups
                Ability to provide leadership in areas of responsibility
as part of statewide library development team
                Experience using a variety of software applications
including all Microsoft Office applications, web editors (such as
Dreamweaver) and other Internet tools

                Salary range: $3,639.42 - $4,150.00/month
