We use a "connex" trailer that is pulled up on the side of our parking lot.
It's a heavy metal and locks securely. It can also be a bear to get open
again, which can be an added security feature or a hassle depending on how you
look at it.

We did discover that you need to check with your code enforcement or zoning
department to make sure you don't violate any rules about the placement of a
storage building or container. Our city has rules about how close to a
property line, near utilities, etc., such a building can be. We also learned
that the even containers like the connex require that the provider by licensed
to do business in our city, and you can't count on the provider to know that.
We actually violated that unintentionally. Oops!

Sorry I can't help with this one. No external storage space for any of the
libraries in the system.

Does your library have a storage building on the library's property?

Of what material is it constructed? How large is it? Is it adjacent to the
building or across the parking lot?

Is it secure? How does it lock?

One of our libraries has that common out-of-space problem, is looking into a
storage building, and wanted some feedback from other libraries.

Thanks.

Laurie
