Sort of reminds me of my father (who made Archie Bunker look like George
McGovern) rushing into the house all upset about some National Guard
troops getting shot at and killed by demonstrators at Kent State...he was
loudly indignant about those 'god damned hippies killing our
soldiers!'...
He was strangely quiet when the news in fact showed that it was those
college kids who'd been killed by the National Guard...
As for the Anne Frank thing...I find it interesting that their claim that
it's a hoax is based on the father writing it...a fact that, even if
true, says nothing regarding the EVENTS written about in the book...
Perhaps Mr. Frank, wanting to write about the events which befell his
family, thought that writing as a diary from his dead daughter's
perspective would have a greater appeal than writing it from his own
perspective...
Perhaps Ms. Frank indeed wrote it herself...
As someone of Dutch extraction, whose family helped their Dutch relatives
immigrate to the U.S. after the war devastated the Netherlands, I can
tell you that most Dutch are well aware of the atrocities perpetrated on
both Jewish and Christian Dutch citizens by the Nazis...
