BLW: How is the above relevant to today's situation? Has the union
improved the quality of education?

BLW: Successfully teaching academics would be satisfactory.

BLW: It's time that parents eliminate the necessity of daily countering
political indoctrination, religious dogma, selective history, anti-family
propaganda, and a plethora of brainwashing activities forced upon their
child at school in the name of "molding the whole person".
It's time that parents refuse to accept the role of scapegoat for teachers
who cannot teach. (What other employment besides teaching and the "child
advocacy" industry provides one such a handy excuse for even the most
egregious lack of skill, intellect or ethics??)
It's time parents demand academic excellence - teachers who cannot pass a
competency exam should be summarily fired, better yet, not hired in the
first place. Degrees in academic subjects should be a requirement to
teach, rather than two years of general ed and two to four additional years
in advanced flannel board.
Slamming teachers' unions is not the answer to the problems we have

Supporting a government sponsored monopoly and systematically usurping
parental rights has clearly not been the answer either.
