I have suspected this for a long time. When you see a roster of the rich
and famous on the boards of the most prominent global "Green"
organizations internationally, you have to at least muster some good,
healthy suspicions. Already some 1/3 of the planet is in wilderness
set-asides and there have been a few debt-for-equity swaps in South
America where the poorest countries have their debts run up by the
international financiers and then the same people come along as their
Green Benefactors to take there land for wilderness set-asides to relieve
the debt. So the wilderness set-asides combined would be by far the
biggest, most wealthy country on earth if they were regarded as a country.
And they are nicely set aside from the teeming masses by remoteness so
that only the rich and famous can afford the helicopter ski trips or other
journeys into them. Plus, if the are ever in a tight spot for money they
can always open a mine on the "reserves" here or there. Of course only
they, the rich Greens even know where most of those deposits are. To them
they are "money in the bank".
