Biology is biology. There is absolutely NO reason that a pigment that is
controlled by melanocytes would suddenly be regulated by a pineal gland
that regulates female menstrual cycles and the onset of puberty, whether
the body belongs to a mammal or a reptile. It's like saying insulin is
responsible for the eye color in lizards...patently ridiculous.
If you're looking for ANY endocrine gland which may -- and I stress MAY --
ultimately help regulate the function of the melanocytes, the thyroid and
the adrenals make more sense...but what part they MAY play is peripheral,
in that they regulate ALL functions of the body...
Go back to school, and study basic biology, zoology, and physiology...
