Fox, 28, a native of Fort Wayne, Ind., was assigned to Marine Helicopter Squadron One at Quantico, Va., which serves the president of the United States. He was on leave at the time of his death. Joe Stiles refused to answer questions or comment beyond the news release. Sheriff Cecil Strawser does not allow his officers to talk to the media. Another investigator, State Police Senior Trooper J.H. Merrill, was not working Thursday.
