Murdering poor women in Whitechapel, some of whom supported their drinking
habit via prostitution, hardly qualifies as 'revenge upon society'...

Anyone who's read/studied about the Ripper murders would know that the
possibility of Lewis Carroll being the ripper is remote at best...

>Dr Wallace claims Carroll wrote a diary every day

This WOULD seem to be telling evidence, but I'd like to see the actual
diary in question for myself...were the black entries made BEFORE the
murders were REPORTED? Perhaps the news of the killings disturbed Carroll
so greatly, he switched to black ink...

Did he ONLY write in black on those days? Are there other days in which
he also switched to black ink?

'Quite simply, Carroll was a psychopathic killer.' Dr Wallace
>argues that Carroll gave a clue to his crimes in the poem Jabberwocky

This is really stretching it...someone who was supposedly so homicidal
would hardly wait 16 years to act upon those urges...

Again, this is stretching things a bit...Annie Chapman's throat was slit,
albeit so deeply that she was ALMOST decapitated...but decapitation does
not seem to have been the primary object...indeed, more 'thought' went
into the almost autopsy-like 'gutting' of Chapman and the other victims...

And therein lies the primary clue to who may have been the Ripper...
whomever did the murders displayed a extensive knowledge of anatomy...

First off, none of the victims were 'girls', rather they were women in
their 30s and 40s.

Secondly, it was not uncommon for women in those days to carry thimbles
with them, indeed thimbles were often treasured possessions...even ROYALTY
carried them (albeit the thimbles of the upperclasses were usually made of
precious materials)...even poor women, if they couldn't afford any other
treasure, would invest whatever they had in a good thimble...

It was also not uncommon people to carry things like forks and soap upon
their person, as a good many of the urban poor did not have permanent
housing, only renting a room for the night if they had the funds, sleeping
in an alley or stable or whatever they could find when they didn't have
the funds to rent a room...

As for an alibi...well, I'm sure any number of names could be produced for
which no 'alibi' is available for those nights, since nothing of
importance happened in those peoples' lives for which they'd need to
produce 'evidence' later...is there any reason Carroll's whereabout SHOULD
be known for the nights in question? Is there any reason to expect that
he wasn't at home, enjoying a nice dinner with a smoke by the fire
afterwards, reading (or perhaps writing) a good book, and then going to
bed?

A more likely suspect, as the Ripper definitely had extensive knowledge of
anatomy...

>Liverpool cotton merchant

Doesn't mention the royal prince who also is a major suspect...
