All the news aside and in a moment of reflection on what Christmas is going to be like for a lot of friends in the west, may I ask you to take a moment to consider the past year and what we have gotten done here in Thailand.
This has been one of our most aggressive years ever, tackling an ever widening circle of poblems and needs in the Akha community, with many resounding successes I might add.
Not bad considering that we were seriously hamstrung by the world mood after 911 and what that did to organizations budgets and donations.
In many villages where there is not enough to eat, and people are over joyed to get a small book in Akha language, we try to deliver and activate hope.
We can not feed all these people, we can not get all the sick ones to the hospital, but we can work many hours a day getting to as many villages as we can and doing all we can to head off the worst problems that will cause many more hardships.
It all takes cash chiefly for fuel, tires and repairs to the truck which gets very hard use seven days a week, week in and week out.
If you think that the work we do is sincere, worthwhile and chiefly - EFFECTIVE, then please make a donation this Christmas season.
And we would very much like to meet you if you make a trip to Thailand to see the work in the villages.
Truck, village and children pics of the 300 village book marathon will get up on the web soon as I can get them posted.
