-Caveat Lector- Subject: "Kosovo Holocaust"...Says Larry King on CNN. A couple of nights ago Larry King presented the prospect that the deaths of the Kosovars in the Yugoslavian Civil War constitute a "Holocaust" (King's wording). Now we don't want to get drawn into futile arguments of Jewish Holocaust affirmers against deniers but let us ask the media what the procedure is for having a historical event publicly recognized as a "Holocaust". Surely this is vitally important in present circumstances. Is a "Holocaust" not a special kind of genocide in which those accused are convicted in a "Trial by Media" such that the hearsay of accusers (people pointing an accusing finger) and media pictures are sufficient to obtain a conviction and the accused are not allowed a defence or an appeal being forever branded as "evil hate mongers" if they so much as try to defend themselves? Isn't that what happened to Germany concerning the Jewish Holocaust? Should it happen to Yugoslavia now? I ask that also in the context of the King, Downs, Bradlee, Greenfield, Ilic discussion. The four US media people lauded the fairness of US media "justice" while Mr. Ilic of Serb TV denied its fairness. There is another consequence to such a "Trial by Media" in that huge amounts of compensation will go to the victimized community proportionate to the numbers said to have been subjected to the genocide. Thus numbers are very, very important. How are they decided upon? The US media, being such fair minded people will not hesitate to ask Mr. Gorbachev if it is true that he released the Death Books of Auschwitz just before stepping down as President and that those Death Books revealed 74,000 deaths of all ethnic groups over all time. If that is true then 4,000,000 is chopped off the 6,000,000 figure in that holocaust. I would like to see Gorbachev and King discussing this matter. After all, Yugoslavia needs a full expose on what it means to be accused of a Holocaust by US Media...and the US Media are ever so fair and just. While we are dealing with US Media Justice though let's roll back time a little further and go to the Slavic Holocaust post-1917 when some 60,000,000 Slavs and their neighbours were subjected to genocide starting in earnest when that enterprising New Yorker, Bronstein (Trotsky) set out to lead the Red Army. Let's read "The Wolf of the Kremlin" by Kahan (Morrow) and find out who else was responsible for the Slavic Holocaust. And then we can expect the US Media to ask further if the US led Yuogoslavian War is not THE FINAL SOLUTION to the Slavic problem. We will soon know won't we, if the US undermines the kind of peace process which Germany and Russia are now working out. And what HAS happened to the German-Russian peace proposal for Yugoslavia?
