Israeli Policy of Collective Punishment Documented in New Report

Amnesty International has issued a new report
http://web.amnesty.org/library/Index/ENGMDE150012003 on Israeli war
crimes in the occupied territories.
This expose is distinguished by its emphasis on Israeli collective
punishment of the Palestinian people as a whole, through closures,
blockades, checkpoints etc.
The US news media almost never makes a distinction between members of
the Palestinian resistance ("terrorists") and the Palestinian masses.
Sharon can order a "Berlin Wall" built to stop a handful of "suicide
bombers" (though there is no roof over Palestine to halt Israeli air
force homicide bombers), and the US media gives scant attention to the
impact that Sharon's wall will have� on the hundreds of thousands of
Palestinian civilians which it will encircle and obstruct.
The Amnesty reports meticulously documents how and why Israeli measures
are illegal under international law. In fact, they are war crimes.
What Amnesty does not mention is the motivation for the collective
punishment. The Judaic notion of universal guilt (an extension of the
Daniel Jonah Goldhagen thesis of collective guilt of the German people
and Catholics for "The Holocaust"), emanates from Orthodox Judaism's
racist labeling of the Palestinian people (and Arabs generally) as
"Amalek," i.e. an Old Testament people fated to extermination by divine
mandate.
In modern times, such an identification is a Talmudic gloss and not an
authentic Biblical obligation, because God in the Old Testament stated
he would "blot out the memory of Amalek forever" whereas Talmudic
Judaism, in violation of what God promised, keeps Amalek's memory alive
through its erroneous identification of contemporary Palestinians with a
now non-existent (if one believes the Bible) Amalek nation.
This Palestinian/Amalek equation on the part of the rabbis is absent
from the US media (though widespread in the orthodox Judaic press). The
impression is instead given that Israelis are simply temporarily angry
at Palestinians due to "suicide bombings" and ergo, Israelis sometimes
take extreme measures against certain Palestinians. But as the report
from Amnesty International documents, these draconian Israeli "measures"
are aimed at all Palestinians, not just the armed combatants among them.
To decode the Israeli war on "Amalek" one must grasp the Zionist
dementia that underlies it.� This dementia would appear patently
ludicrous in a world that was not cowed by Judaic assassination, state
terror, political intimidation and bribery. But when the Israelis
announce that they missed killing Sheik Yassin because they dropped only
a small (550 lb.) bomb on a Gaza City apartment building Sept. 6, in
order to "minimize civilian casualties," no one laughs at the madness of
such a crazed defense of a bombing, in which a dozen civilians,
including children, were injured.
For fear of the American-based Israeli lobby, when Colin Powell on
Sunday spoke of Israeli "actions (i.e. assassinations)...which injure
innocent people," he had to tiptoe and kowtow to such an extent that he
was impelled to refer to the Zionist state terrorists who injure
innocent people as "our Israeli colleagues."
Bush's speech to the nation last night was also reflective of the
Israeli dementia. In an 18 minute speech about Iraq, the first he
delivered since his May 1 warship oration declaring the war successfully
concluded, a soporific Bush, who this writer increasingly suspects of
being medicated with tranquilizers, made no mention of the weapons of
mass destruction that were the stated reason that the US invaded Iraq.
This huge hole in his logic should be a subject for unintended hilarity
but a nation stunned by a new $87 billion bill for the Zionist-inspired
adventure in Iraq, cannot muster the wit to laugh.
