Dear Alabama Legal Information Librarian:
What is the definition in law of this God of the Alabama Constitution?
Canada, by Constitution is "...founded upon principles that recognize the
supremacy of God....". Prime Minister Chretien himself voted for the
inclusion of the "Supremacy of God Clause" when the Charter containing it
was passed into law in 1982. The judges of Canada have decided upon a
"liberal" definition of this God of Canada, ie the standard dictionary
definition as pertaining to "one's highest ideals".
If Judge Moore were to put 2,000 Alabamans on a Liberty Ship destined for
a colony in "the true north, strong and free", and provide them with a
Constitution for their new colony, how would it read? How about 2,000
Liberty Ships x 50 states? The new city would have a population of
100,000. Would it be a "shining city on a hill", any better than the one
which the pagan academics of SFU are building atop Burnaby Mountain in BC?
