Irish Nuns Apologize for Abusing Children Dublin 5/5/04 (AP) "In unusually emphatic terms, an order of Catholic nuns apologized Wednesday for abusing generations of children in its care in Ireland. The Congregation of the Sisters of Mercy, which has run homes for orphans and other disadvantaged youths since the 1830s, unveiled a statement that sought to quell criticism of its earlier efforts to say sorry." Indonesian man admits sexually abusing over 100 children, killing one "An Indonesian has been arrested for killing a teenage boy who refused to have sex with him and has admitted sexually abusing more than 100 boys since the 1970s, according to police. Muhammad Buchoirudin, 62, was arrested on Thursday in Jakarta hours after he battered a 14-year-old to death with a hammer, said Commissioner Ahmad Alwi, the police chief at Kebon Jeruk district in West Jakarta. ����Torture report may have broken classification rules
����By classifying an explosive report on the torture of Iraqi prisoners as "Secret," the Pentagon may have violated official secrecy policies, which prohibit the use of classification to conceal illegal activities. ����The report, authored by Maj. Gen. Antonio Taguba, found that "between October and December 2003, at the Abu Ghraib Confinement Facility, numerous incidents of sadistic, blatant, and wanton criminal abuses were inflicted on several detainees." ����"The allegations of abuse were substantiated by detailed witness statements and the discovery of extremely graphic photographic evidence," Gen.
