I don't remember when the public was ever informed about espionage by other
countries (either successful or failed).  Sometimes many years later someone
puts something into a book.  We did find out when Israel got the atomic
secrets, but nobody got upset at all.  The Russian trawlers sat off Okinawa
listening to every word that went off the island in any direction.  George
Bush was our China man for some years, and he didn't get hysterical about the
Chinese trying to "steal" our secrets.  Most intelligence agencies use the
very fact that thefts are taking place to plant false information.  I just
wish I knew what Congress is pulling while diverting the public with this
"stolen secrets" stuff.  Prudy
