Yup. Conspiratorialism is theological, not evidentiary. Or rather,
the standards for evaluating 'evidence' and arguments are rather
flimsy when one constructs an entertaining conspiracy hypothesis.
Here's a datum - is it un/real, forged, ir/relevant, dis/connected,
trivial, misconstrued, flashy? Here are a set of data - are they
validated, meaningful? Here's an explanation - is it the simplest
way to account for all the validated observations, and does it
make specific predictions of future events? To the believer, such
questions only spoil the fun, except as the application of certain
questions [ie, forgery] advance the game.
