(The parts in parenthesis are mine.) Survivors may want to use caution when writing people. The defense portion of Rick Carlson's trial is coming up next week. (It is believed) he is a survivor of the CIA sponsored LSD experimentation in Canadian prisons when he was young. Now they are prosecuting him for a bank robbery (it is believed) he did not do as well as trying to hang a dangerous offender "diagnosis" on him which will be essentially life in prison. The person that sent this to me met with Rick several times when they were in Thunder Bay this summer. He is a bright, charming man. He is literate, intelligent and no one they would consider to be a dangerous offender. (It is believed) the real reason they want to put him away is to shut him up. Please help. I ask each of you to send a fax to the addresses listed below stating that you are aware of Rick's situation as an experimentation survivor and that the American public is very interested in outcome of his case. The most important thing is that the powers-that-be know that the outside world is watching. We all know what they can get away with if they think that no one cares. I have met him. He is no different than anyone here. Please fax as many of these people as you can.
