"Consequently, in the interest of future world order, peace, and tranquility, it was decided to privately wage a quiet war against the American people." -Silent Weapons for Quiet Wars Just what is it that makes the United States of America the most violent, volatile and dangerous country in the world, a veritable hot-bed of murder, madness and mayhem? America is the first truly modern nation, the first to be founded on guns, not just on sex and violence, but on drugs and rock 'n' roll too. Originally the government, according to the consititution, was simply a party of elect "organizers" (not controllers) employed by the people for the people. The people, in order to ensure against any exploitation of their liberty or rights by their government, was a fully-armed and organized force in itself, and if the people could at a pinch do without the government, the government had no function, or even reality, outside the will of the people. In The Ominous Parallels (New York, Penguin, 1993), Leonard Peikoff cites the constitution of the Founding Fathers: "'to secure these rights [of the individual], Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed...' The powers of the government are, therefore, limited, not merely de facto or by default, but on principle: government is forbidden to infringe man's right..." Since the time of the Founding Fathers, however, the original intentions have been wholly perverted, the pyramid, as such, inverted, and the all-seeing eye closed for business. Government's purpose became no longer to protect and serve its people, but rather to oppress and to abuse them, and if possible to do away with them altogether. Two factors are essential to the maintenance of this autonomous, self-serving "government": having formed its own armies, it seeks first of all to keep the potentially subversive "mass" both docile and servile, to impose upon them a level of almost total dependence, faith and loyalty towards their "big borther", or Uncle Sam. This blind "loyalty" is achieved by what is known as "the protection racket": the social climate of the nation must be one of instability-volatile, unpredictable, chaotic, and to this end a level of urban aggression and petty crime must be maintained, if not merely encouraged, then actively created. "The general rule is that there is profit in confusion; the more confusion, the more profit. Therefore, the best approach is to create problems and then offer the solutions." The second factor esssential to the State's supremacy over its people concerns the power inherant in that people, contingent on the sheer strength of numbers and the solidarity of the group: this solidarity must be stripped away by any means possible, steadily eroded, and replaced by fear, suspicion, and confusion. At an emotional and psychological level, this serves to isolate the individual from his "people," and leads to a falling away of his responsiblity and courage, as he feels less and less the strength of the community, and only the security of hiding within it. At a more concrete level, within that community, as mistrust and suspicion grows, there will be a corresponding breakdown organization, communication, understanding and stability, leading to confusion and false docility in the individual, and to the a steady turning of the group towards the government body, in search of their lost sense of order and cohesion. Little by little, then, the people are made to give up everything: their solidarity, their power, their dignity, their self-respect, their freedom, and finally, most mundanely, their arms. All arms are property of Uncle Sam. A strange kind of vicious circle is propagated this way: the more violent the society becomes, the more demand there is for personal protection, while at the same time, the more suspicion, hostility and paranoia increases between the individuals living in this society. Through steady manipulation not only of information (via the media) but of the events themselves-social engineering creates its own propaganda, its own proofs and finally its own history-the "rising tide of violence" in society is blamed on the availability of these arms, just as if people had no choice as to how they used them. Hence the liberal portion of the population favors disarmament on a national scale, failing to realize that-the very argument many have used against disarmament on a global scale-these arms are a major, perhaps essential, deterrant against the government overriding the people entirely, and establishing an overtly totalitarian state. If arms were simply outlawed, it is reasoned, a great many people would hold on to their guns anyway (in perfectly justified paranoia), whereas if the majority can be convinced that it is for their own protection that they must surrender up their arms (the very last thing that protects them), then the desired police state might more effectively be established. Above all else, this program requires the complete annihilation of the argument that, if guns were criminalized, only the criminals would have them, bascially by suggesting that only a criminal would need to have a firearm in the first place. The fact is, rather, that once guns are rendered illegal, only the government and its armed forces would have them. All this has been a major digression, for two primary reasons: one, that of all paranoid perspectives, perhaps the most pervasive and organized-in the US at least-is that of the "patriot movement" which is summed up above, namely, the fear of a military take-over by the government. The second reason for the digression is that this hypothetical agenda-the disarming of the populace in order to make them vulnerable to a coup d'etat-ties in more or less seamlessly with a much profounder, more sinister and far-reaching agenda, one that pertains to a different order of paranoia altogether, that of event manipulation, or what we have termed "Masonic Sorcery Theatre." From this particular perspective, all violent crimes and aberrational acts of mayhem-one way or another-are seen as but individual enactments of a vast, unimaginably complex and mind-numbingly grotesque global operation that can only be adequately described-with all the implications of the word-as diabolical. The upshoot of this macabre and twisted agenda appears to be-in the equally macabre and twisted mind of the paranoid-nothing less than the reduction of society to a state of fear and loathing-of outright insanity, savagery, cruelty and wanton chaos-and of the individual himself to little more than a stark, raving lunatic. Yet at the same time, both the chaos and the insanity are-in the paranoid's awareness-seen as strictly ordered, and even programmed, according to specific designs. These designs are, by definition, beyond the scope of any single perspective or human imagination, but may best be summed up by the phrase, "apocalypse engineering"; or else, more esoterically: "immanentizing the eschaton." To bring this cosmic agenda back down to Earth, and to the original premise, the program of event-manipulation or "mythological engineering" which our paranoid imagines to be behind all wordly events is intended to do away with all individual rights for self-protection, and even autonomy of any kind, by accomplishing what might be termed, "the criminalization of the citizen" (balanced of course by the mafia-intelligence link-ups which amount to the mirror image of this: "the citizenship of the criminal"). All this intrigue involves the most profound type of propaganda imaginable, its aims not only to alter the roles of the individual in society, but that of his very nature within the world, in short, to prove that he is an uncontrollable maniac who-given the slightest chance-will go on an insane killing-spree and wipe out half the neighbourhood. Of course, this is really the founding lie of all government: to justify its laying down of the law in the first place it must first establish the need for this law. Disorder is required to make a demand for order, therefore, government must create a sufficient level of crime and social upheaval to merit the strong-arm tactics which it has always intended to employ. The element of sheer depravity and of wanton violence that is more or less new to our present century is an indication-to the paranoid-of just how far this "agenda" has progressed, and of just how "strong" this "arm" intends to become. * The basic nova technique is very simple: always create as many insoluable conflicts as possible and always aggravate existing conflicts-This is done by dumping on the same planet life-forms with incompatible conditions of existence-There is of course nothing "wrong" about any given life form since "wrong" only has reference to conflicts with other life forms-The point is these life forms should not be on the same planet. -William Burroughs, The Ticket that Exploded If a considerable percentage of the population is considered "volatile," i.e., violently unstable, this will justify the direction of the entire apparati of society towards the creation of a kind of giant lunatic asylum, one in which-it could be argued-all laws and restrictions are designed only to punish or oppress those insane or evil enough to resist them. In other words, "anyone who steps out of line will get swatted." Of course, what this entails is a self-fulfilling agenda of legalized violence and oppression, in a word, tyranny. Once again, paranoid awareness can been seen to overlap comfortably with ordinary "cynicism," or what in this case amounts to simple logical deduction. The concentration camp may well be the closest we have come to seeing a working model of this theoretical future society that exists in the best nightmares of the paranoid. It should be noted that it was possible to survive in a Nazi concentration camp, provided one was prepared to shift one's allegiance from victim to victimizer-or from individual to "state,"-and become, in effect, one of the guards. What we have called "the criminalization of the citizen" appears to be-in the eyes of the paranoid at least-part of a larger program that involves a sort of across-the-board "clean-up deal" aimed at all "undesirable elements" in society, who are to be marked for displacement and possible eradication in the dreaded "relocation centers." If such a program were ever to be realized, however, it would logically be necessary to target certain minorites first, in order to avoid a general panic-and even possible uprising-in the face of wholly indiscriminate government persecutions. So long as the individual can feel assured that it's only the other guy-the nigger, the fag, the kike, the junky, the hippy, the freak, the weirdo, the smoker or the jay-walker-he will usually be willing to remain passive and do nothing, on the slim chance that he himself will escape the persecutions. Knowing, of course, that the "nigger-lover" or "liberal," or anyone who makes any attempt to intervene-or even criticize the process-will be treated with the exact same measure of expedience. Such a person is designated immediately to the ever-growing ranks of "undesirables," a definition that will presumably extend its reach to eventually include the entire population, minus those in power, naturally. To sum up this hypothetical agenda, then, the population must, as individuals, be reduced to: a) slaves, i.e., trusting, servile and dependent. b) wimps, i.e., powerless, disorganized and fearful. c) dupes, i.e., meek, passive and ignorant. d) creeps, i.e., isolated, selfish and aggressive. The concentration camp, as a model, serves all four of these purposes: it serves not merely as a prison and a slaughterhouse, but also as a laboratory. At the same time, the idea of it functions not only as a threat and a warning to the world, but also as a form of propaganda, a means for showing what slaves and creeps the human race is made up of. Which brings us to Jonestown. * Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it -Sign over Jim Jones' chair at Jonestown Jonestown was many things to many people, but what concerns us here is first and foremost the paranoid's perception of Jonestown, namely as being one isolated case in a larger design; from this perspective, then, Jonestown might best be seen as a model for the future: one of many, but one of the few to ever be exposed for what it was. In the paranoid's understanding, many other secular "religious" communities founded by the intelligence network in actual fact serve similar purposes (the paranoid's list is extensive, and should be researched with a sober head: the Moonies, the Rajneesh Foundation in Oregon, Horesch's Waco commune and the "Heaven's Gate" troop all have the ear-marks of government-funded programs). First of all, these "communities" serve in a not-so subtle fashion to round up "undesirables": drifters, hippies, blacks, single women, etc. Secondly, they appear also to function as experimental environments in which the "inmates" are used as guinea pigs for testing the latest advances in mind control drugs, new viral strains, and so forth. The end of these experiments-if not actual genocide-appears to be to reduce individuals to a state of total submission and relative mindlessness. (Basically the same procedure was perfected by Pavlov and his dogs: a simple "reward and punishment" agenda, though in the present case it would be enhanced immeasurably by the use of hallucinogenic drugs and all the latest tools of "psychotronic" technology. ) Thirdly, the camps would serve as raw material for a more elaborate kind of social engineering, or pyschological warfare. When news of Jonestown came out, for example, the "facts" of the matter were almost entirely fabricated with a specific end in mind, and the results speak for themselves, even if few ever bothered to look closely at the evidence. The public-unquestioning, unthinking-will always to believe what it is told, provided it is told by a sufficiently authorative source such as the mass media. But the facts of Jonestown flew brazenly in the face of the "offical story," as we shall see, thereby leaving ample room for the paranoid imagination to flower in. Jim Jones himself had possible but unverified connections to the CIA, and although his vocation as religious dictator came at an early age (his father belonged to the Ku Klux Klan, and Jones worked as a minister and faith-healer as a young man), there seems little doubt that his career did not really take off until someone - almost certainly with governmental affiliations - was behind him. There are various conflicting theories on this, however, and it is not in our interests to pit them against each other. The original reports on the news and in the papers were that 400 had died in Jonestown, but that 700 had fled into the forest. By all accounts there were at least 1,100 people there. A week later, however, the official body count was 913; 167 survivors returned to the US. The original explanation of this discrepancy was that the Guyanese "could not count." Next, the bodies were said to have been hidden behind the pavillion (a small house, yet the authorites had been on the scene for days). The official account finally stated that some bodies had been on top of other bodies, in other words, that 408 bodies had somehow hidden another 505 bodies from view. This is a typical example of a cover-up adhering to the rules of-keep them in the dark, but if possible, insult their intelligence while you're at it! (equating with Hitler's "Big Lie" theory) Any thinking person would simply have returned to the original report, and assumed it to be the correct one: 400 had died, 700 had fled into the jungle. A week later, 500 of this 700 was also dead, at which point there naturally arises the question: who killed them? The facts of the case are many and myriad, so let us allow an "expert" of paranoid awareness to take over at this point, the following quotes from John Judge's piece, "The Black Hole of Guyana," in Secret and Suppressed . At the Jonestown site, survivors described a special group of Jones' followers who were allowed to carry weapons and money, and to come and go from the camp. These people were all white, mostly males. They ate better and worked less than the others, and they served as an armed guard to enforce discipline, control labor and restrict movements... The dead were 90 percent women, and 80 percent blacks. ...According to survivors' reports, they entered a virtual slave labor camp. Worked for 16 to 18 hours daily, they were forced to live in cramped quarters on minimum rations, usually rice, bread and sometimes rancid meat. Kept on a schedule of physical and mental exhaustion, they were forced to stay awake at night and listen to lectures by Jones... The camp medical staff... administered drugs, and kept daily medical records. Infractions of the rules or disloyalty led to increasingly harsh punishments, including forced drugging, sensory isolation in an undergound box, physical torture and public sexual rape and humiliation. ...On the scene at Jonestown, Guyanese troops discovered a large cache of drugs; enough to drug the entire population of Georgetown, Guyana (well over 200,000) for more than a year... The actual description of life at Jonestown is that of a tightly run concentration camp, complete with medical and psychiatric experimentation... Jonestown was an experiment, part of a 30-year program called MK-ULTRA, the CIA and military intelligence code name for mind control... a combination of drugs, drug mixtures, electroshock and torture as methods for control. The desired results ranged from temporary and permanent amnesia, uninhibited confessions, and creation of second personalities, to programmed assassins and preconditioned suicidal urges. One goal was the ability to control mass populations, especially for cheap labor. ...Pete Hamill called the corpses (at Jonestown) "all the loose change of the sixties." The effect was electric. Any alternative to the current system was seen as futile, if not deadly... The message was, get a job, go back to church... There was no answer but death, no exit from the grisly future... The official message was very clear... Dr Mootoo found fresh needle marks at the back of the shoulder blades of 80-90 percent of the victims. Others had been shot or strangled.. The gun that reportedly shot Jim Jones was lying nearly 200 feet from the body, not a likely suicide weapon... Only two (of the bodies) had committed suicide... The US Army spokesman, Lt Col. Schuler said, "No autopsies are needed. The cause of death is not an issue here." ...At the scene, bodies were stripped of identification, including the medical wrist tags visible in many early photos... (It) took nearly a week to bring back the Jonestown dead, bringing in the majority at the end of the period. The corpses, rotting in the heat, made autopsies impossible. ...The long delay made it impossible to reconstruct the event... Several civilian pathology experts said they "shuddered at the ineptness" of the military. Congressman Leo Ryan was shot down at the Port Kaituma airstrip, along with several newsmen accompanying him, "even though the troops were nearby with machine guns at the ready... The (newsmen) were clearly killed by armed men who descended from a tractor-trailer at the scene, after opening fire. Witnesses described them as 'zombies,' walking mechanically, without emotion, and 'looking through you, not at you,' as they murdered. Only certain people were killed, and the selection was clearly planned." Jim Jones was but a more civilized and respectable development of the murderous and treacherous confidance man that has exploited our trust and gullibility since time, or at least sundials, began. He was a professional psychotic-a new breed of pseudo-spiritual tyrant with grandiloquent ends and the very basest of means. The prototype of this modern archetype/assassin was none other than Hitler himself, and the religious- community-cum-correction-center-cum-concentration-camp was not reserved only for suckers and fools-though undoubtedly these were the first to go-because the agenda, as such, includes us all. * And the bookkeeper can be king if the public can be kept ignorant of the methodology of the bookkeeping. All science is merely a means to an end. The means is knowledge. The end is control. Beyond this remains only one issue: Who will be the beneficiary? -Silent Weapons for Quiet Wars The most unsettling factor to all this, and the greatest justification for genuine paranoia, is that, as Judge states, "the Jonestown model survives, and similar camps, and their sinister designs, show up in many places." To the paranoid, then, Jonestown was a freak exposure, but not a freak occurrence. The "suicide-murder" (a classic newspeak term coined for the occasion) both led to and resulted from this exposure, and it becomes highly doubtful that the scandal was either inadvertent or unexpected, as so many have assumed, but rather a deliberately contrived event, for precise, if obscure, purposes. This is by far the most challenging area of the paranoid's weltanshauung. When a story of this nature hits the newstands-says the paranoid - it comes ready-made for a specific effect, the lie not only in the bias of the presentation, but in the actual manipulation of the events themselves. The tactics of psychological terrorism are those by which the government may best tyrannize a people and keep them in total apprehension of - and dependence on - their supposed "protectors." In order for protection to be needed, the threat must first be invented, and the lurking paranoia which the public senses must be realized. The most obvious effects of the "official story" of Jonestown on the mass psyche were the following: Firstly, it fostered the belief that people in general are so slavish, so irresponsible, so hopeless and desperate as to take their own lives, not from personal despair, but merely at the whim of some adored madman posing as a guru. Secondly, it confirmed a growing mistrust in religious cults and alternate movements in general, the feeling being that these people were not to be pitied but despised-that essentially they got what they deserved. Religion itself was thereby debased and "exposed" as an unrealistic and dangerous scam, strictly for suckers and fools. Beyond all this, however, beyond the conscious conclusions which the public reached, the fact remains that-at a subconscious level (as with the JFK coup and the Manson murders)-the public always knows what has really happened, even if they cannot rationally apprehend this knowledge. One blatant indication of this aspect of the drama is the sign over Jones' place: Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it. To the paranoid observor, this is typical of the kind of knowing smirk that so often serves as a signature for the handiwork of Masonic psychosexual mind games, because, for those who never even figure out what happened, for whom the past itself is but an elaborate fiction designed to confound them, what chance do they have but to repeat it? * "In order to implement this objective, it was necessary to create, secure and apply new weapons... a class of weapons so subtle and sophisticated in their principle of operation and public appearance as to earn for themselves the name "silent weapons"... Everything that is expected from an ordinary weapon is expected from a silent weapon... It shoots situations, instead of bullets... from a computer, instead of a gun... It makes no obvious explosive noises, causes no obvious physical or mental injuries, and does not obviously interfere with anyone's daily social life. Yet it makes an unmistakable "noise," causes unmistakeable physical and mental damage, and unmistakeably interferes with daily social life, i.e., unmistakeable to a trained observor, one who knows what to look for." -Silent Weapons for Quiet Wars To the discerning mind of the paranoid, the "message" of Jonestown was multi-layered, intricate, and profound, consisting of two main directives: one for the conscious mind, the other for the unconscious. This one-two-punch strategy is the very essence of paranoid awareness, in that it serves to illustrate and to accentuate the rift or split between what we are told to believe, and what actually is, between the way things seem, and the way they are. It is the sworn duty and the sacred obsession of every paranoid everywhere to reconcile these two perspectives, and so mend the rift in his own psyche, and so correcting his own basically schizoid perception of reality. This he does - or attempts to do-by bringing the occult depths to the surface, and so disposing of the illusory facade of consensus reality, if only for brief moments at a time. His endeavor is thus far greater than simply the dissemination of "suppressed" information and the spreading of paranoia as a means to subvert and expose public ignorance and complancecy: he is - perhaps unwittingly but nonetheless devotedly-doing the work of all artists and poets enslaved to their Muse, that of introducing the conscious mind to its own underbelly, of bringing the great unconscious to light. Once again, then, it is not the question of paranoia's validity that counts here, but rather the question of its having come into being at all. True or false, the existence of paranoid awareness is a postmodern form of folklore or mythology that is of incalcuable interest to us, because, whatever else it may be, it has emerged, and not from the conscious mind-its profound irrationality testifies to that - but from the unconscious. Hence, like all such emerging archetypes, it brings with it its very own message, and its very own meaning. So long as the two realms of conscious and unconscious remain separate, unsynthesized, this disparity remains humanity's greatest weak point, its Achilles' heel if you will. There can be no doubt that the controlling powers - if control they do, and being themselves dedicated adherants of the paranoid perspective and thus enslaved to its rules - are acutely aware of this weakness, and do all they can to exploit it. Hence the preonderance of the double-edged technique of mystification, which has proved to be the most effective, destructive form of psychological warfare at their disposal. Consciously, the public is left unenlightened, unprepared, unsuspecting, none the wiser for all the information, while at the same time jaded, more cynical, uncertain, and despairing. Unconsciously, on the other hand, the public intuits the very worst, the truth behind all the half-truths and lies, this intuition serving to strengthen the fear and desperation, without actually helping them to understand its meaning. This split or division in the psyche is the essence of the moral conquest of the mass now underway-the house divided must fall, and so is the defenseless psyche like an unguarded fortress, surrounded on all sides by armies of darkness. Being unsynthesized or comprehended by ordinary consciousness, the public's knowledge can be acted upon, nor even thought about, yet neverthless it is there. The mass will find their thoughts ever more pervaded by seemingly irrational fears and despair, rendering them like the paralysed prey in the shadow of the predator. What all this amounts to, in a word, is paranoia, without awareness. >From the point of view of the aware paranoid, it goes something like this: When the head explodes the image serves as trigger, goes directly to implant and activates signal, transmits subliminal broadcast "explaining" catastrophic act as result of long series of manipulations along a vast and tangled chain of conspiracies, that ties up all levels and facets of social, cultural and political bodies, in a sticky, deadly web of deception and destruction. Aim: psychological undermining of foundation of reasonable belief system of mass populace, whose tendency is to trust that all will work out alright if they sit tight. The subconscious info-feed will establish an unformed but solid base of certainty: IT WON'T. Every lie and half-truth in this battle serves the same purpose: to induce a slow schizophrenia, a disassociation on the part of the individual which in turn leads to emotional imbalance, an increasingly manic personality, a general apathy and despair (without apparent cause), and a steadily encroaching sense of hopelessness and isolation. All of which leads inexorably on to growing intolerance, impatience, anger and disgust, with the world and with humanity itself: in short, a blank, hollow race of sub-men, ready at the flick of a switch to become wild beasts or cornered rodents. This notion is not a new one, and it reached a kind of preliminary fruition with the Hitler Youth, Hitler's goal being the creation of an "Army of Darkness" indoctrinated from birth ("breeders" were employed to "deliver" the new recruits) with all the baser, most "evil" or destructive instincts, and untarnished by a single shred of humanity. Obviously, if an individual's existence is ordered and directed within a controlled environment from the very first moments of his life, then this individual will come out more or less exactly as intended. Constant subjection to intense images of violence, and to violence itself, repeated brutalities, sexual degradation, exposure to insanity, hatred, lust, greed, anger and fear, with narely a glimpse of any of the opposing extremes (joy, kindness, love, etc), will ensure the child grow up in a world of evil, with no notion of anything beyond it. So that, in thought and deed, to all intents and purposes, "evil shall be his good." If this child is rewarded for acts of spite and punished for acts of kindness, then his standards will be the absolute inverse of what we consider, in our vanity, to be "decent" and "right." Yet he will remain "innocent" in his own mind, having never known or suspected any different. (The bizarre and largely insubstatiated - even by the paranoid's standards - but nonethless rampant cases of Satanic child abuse at Military Day Care Centres across the US may be only the tip of the iceberg, and to the paranoid mind they certainly suggest evidence of a global program of diabolic ramifications. Fortunately this topic is beyond the scope of the present work.) Each time a wanton murder occurs, on TV, in the world, real or simulated or both at once, a similar drama unfolds in the human psyche. A murder that is with precise yet wholly impersonal (because inhuman) occult motives-as in every so-called "assassination"-serves several purposes at the same time. The "undesirable" is disposed of, the public is subconsciously warned and threatened, and-most importantly of all-the status of human nature takes another step backwards, towards irredeemable savagery. The latest "blank generation"-following hot on the heels of generation "X"-is something of a hybrid still, yet it is perhaps closer to this primal "heart of darkness" than humanity has yet come before. It would seem, by the reckoning of paranoid awareness, that a utopia of assassins is now all but upon us.
