Holocaust Revisionism Left and Right

It is now fifty years since the end of the Second World War and
the liberation of the Nazi slave labor and death camps. Half a
century afterwards, much of the horror the world felt in 1945 has
worn off. Americans, as a people, have become collectively
immured to genocide as a fact of life, as long as the practice of
it is confined to the Third World. If prophets were to rise up
and warn the American people that genocide would play a role in
their own future, as two prophets were raised to warn the
Armenians of the coming genocide in 1916, most Americans would be
in denial that it could happen here. They might even stone those
prophets.
It was in 1956 as a child of six, that I first learned of the
Holocaust from my Jewish grandmother. She told me how, at the
end of the War, she and her brother, Walter Fletcher (n�
Fleisher), who had been the picture editor of the New York Times
during the War, used every means at their disposal, including
UPI, AP, Reuters, and the services of several journalists, close
friends who had gone into liberated Europe, to try to locate all
or any of their surviving Jewish cousins. In the end, they found
that over 80% of their extended family had been liquidated and
perished in the war. We still have copies of some of the letters
which document this. I know that the Holocaust was real because
it happened to my family.
Today, however, an alarming 15% of the electorate in the U.S.
has come to doubt that Hitler's "final solution" intended the
extermination of the Jewish people. In 1979, Willis Carto, then
Secretary of the Liberty Lobby (founded by Curtis B. Dall, a
former son-in-law of President Franklin D. Roosevelt), moved the
dialectics of that formerly old-right "populist" group into an
overt position of Nazi apologetics by publishing a series of
articles allegedly documenting that the holocaust and the "final
solution" were historical hoaxes created by "Zionist-Communist"
propaganda.
Right-wing holocaust revisionist literature includes the pamphlet
"Did Six Million Really Die?" by Richard Harwood of the
University of London. Books in this vein include The Hoax of the
Twentieth Century by Professor A.R. Butz and The Six Million
Swindle by Professor A.J. App. There is also the work, in
French, of Paul Rassinier, La Drame des Juifs European. Serious
students of history, however, will always balance their studies
of such revisionist opinions as proceed from the Institute for
Historical Review (IHR) in Costa Mesa with the mass of very real
evidence that confirms the reality of the genocide practiced by
the Nazis. Standard works on the Holocaust that run counter to
the right-wing revisionist line include Gerald Reitilinger, The
Final Solution; Martin Gilbert, The Holocaust; and Marie Syrkin,
Blessed is the Match.
At the same time that right-wing Neo-Nazi holocaust revisionism
is working like leaven on the minds of undiscerning elements of
the American public, the Left also has acquired its own species
of Holocaust revisionism, which tends to forget completely, or
upon occasion actively deny, that the Nazis, shit-kicking pagans,
killed, as a matter of policy by means of slave-labor camps and
actual genocide, at least seven million European, predominantly
Slavic, Christians.
New-left holocaust revisionism does not deny that the Nazis
murdered close to six million Jews, as well as Gypsies,
communists, socialists, trade unionists, gays, and the mentally
infirm. It does, however, tend to the erroneous belief that the
Nazis did this because they themselves were "Christians."
Nothing could be further from the truth. Hitler's actual
opinions on Christianity, are revealed in The Voice of
Destruction [Hitler Speaks], published in Paris in 1939 as Hitler
m'a Dit, by Herman Rauschning, a Prussian junker and former
Gauleiter of Danzig, who fled Germany in 1935. Hitler and
Himmler were actually militant pagans and black magic occultists.
This is well documented and clarified in Trevor Ravenscroft, The
Spear of Destiny; Michel-Angelbert, The Occult and the Third
Reich; and Dusty Sklar, Gods, Beasts, the Nazis, and the Occult.
It is difficult to trace the source of left-wing Holocaust
revisionism. So far, one cannot point to a particular think tank
like the IHR and say, "This is the fountain of this
disinformation." Left-wing Holocaust revisionism is more like a
wind of reaction and ignorance that is blowing through the
masses. One encounters it in conversations with counter-cultural
types, sometimes with the startling assertion that the world
would be a better place if all the Fundamentalists were
liquidated. We see then, fifty years after the holocaust, how
the barbarous forces that Hitler loosed into the world have
permeated, influenced, and desensitized all levels of society.
It is true that several of Hitler's early statements about Jews
were paraphrases of statements Martin Luther made in the 1520s.
It's also true that the fascist partisans in Yugoslavia, the
Croatian Ustashi, who butchered over 700,000 Serbs during the
Nazi occupation, were militant Catholics who used the terror of
genocide as a weapon to "convert" their erring Serbian cousins
from Eastern Orthodoxy to Catholicism. But the so-called
"Positive" or "German Christianity" (an evil, racist Gnosticism
akin -- but not identical to -- the "Identity Christianity" of
today's Neo-Nazis) that Hitler sponsored to supplant the Gospel
in the churches, is as far removed from the teachings of Jesus of
Nazarus in the Sermon on the Mount, as the practices of Genghis
Khan were removed from the teachings of the gentle Buddha. Real
Christians, like Dietrich Bonhoffer, who courageously opposed the
Nazification of the churches, were tortured and murdered in the
concentration camps by the tens of thousands.
Both wings of current holocaust revisionism, right and left,
tend to blur facts, slur reality, and muddy the waters of what
really happened. They also serve to cover a darker, more
sinister reality -- the involvement of the Western capitalists
(Anglo-Americans, and Zionist Jews) in financing and doing
business with Hitler's Reich. Chief among books that document
this are Trading with the Enemy by the liberal Jewish journalist
Charles Higham and Wall Street and the Rise of Hitler, by the
conservative British historian Antony C. Sutton. Gilbert Seldes'
Facts & Fascism and 1,000 Americans are also very informative
with regard to the pro-Nazi sentiments and business connections
of American industrialists.
The Trotskyist sector of the Marxist-Leninists weigh in with
Lenni Brenner, Zionism in the Age of the Dictators, and Ralph
Schoenmann, The Hidden History of Zionism -- two books which
document Zionist complicity with the Nazis in the thirties and
forties. An important and rare book, Perfidy, by the Jewish
playwright Ben Hecht (Julian Messner, New York, 1961) reveals
that certain very cynical leaders in the World Zionist
Organization in Berne, Switzerland, during the war were fully
informed of the course of the holocaust at Auschwitz and yet
turned a deaf ear and sounded no tocsins. The Crime and
Punishment of I.G. Farben, by Joseph Borkin, shows that Auschwitz
was not only a death factory engaged in mass murder of the
European Jews, but was also an I.G. Farben chemical factory,
where Jews and other prisoners of war were used as slave labor.
Trading with the Enemy documents the globe-spanning cartel that
married Standard Oil of New Jersey with I.G. Farben in 1932.
It also shows how powerful people in the West (including Allen
Dulles of the OSS stationed in Berne, Switzerland) representing
the stockholders of Standard Oil-I.G. Farben, prevented the
Allies from bombing the railheads to, and the facilities of, the
I.G. Farben factory at Auschwitz during the height of the
slaughter.
Wall Street and the Rise of Hitler, also shows how the Warburg
family, Jewish finance capitalists of Hamburg, London, and New
York, sat on the boards of directors and owned huge chunks of
stock of German General Electric and I.G. Farben, two
corporations that poured millions of marks into the coffers of
Hitler's National Socialist Party as early as 1928. The Crime
and Punishment of I.G. Farben shows how Max Warburg laundered
this stock into Swiss holding companies before he left Germany in
1938, and how John J. McCloy, Rockefeller/Morgan lawyer who
became military governor of the U.S. zone in Germany after the
war, gave it all back to Max Warburg's son, Eric, after the war
and all was forgiven.
This is not some wild "conspiracy theory." The facts of history
may still be verified. It is, to borrow Parenti's phrase, "a
conspiracy actuality," made all the worse because the holocaust,
the sacrifice and burnt offering of the European Jews, was also
an actuality. This is the same Warburg clan, in essence,
cut-outs for the predominantly Gentile trans-Atlantic
bond-holding class, who, in the person of Paul Warburg,
masterminded the Federal Reserve financial coup of 1913.
It is the same Warburg clan that, in 1962 in the person of James
P. Warburg of the Chase-Manhattan Bank, founded the "Left-wing"
think tank, the Institute for Policy Studies, which, plugged into
a slush fund of millions of dollars from the Ford Foundation,
became in the sixties the Mother Ship of much of the "New Left."
Other important books which supply pieces to this elaborate
puzzle of the Third Reich and the holocaust, are Hannah Arendt,
Eichman in Jerusalem; Edwin Black, The Transfer Agreement; Dr.
Waclaw Zajuczkowski, Martyrs of Charity, and, T.H.Tetens, The New
Germany, and The Old Nazis. Also, the chapter "The Brown-Shirted
Christ-Killers" from Jews, God, and History, by the liberal
Jewish historian Max Dimont.
Reichstag Fire Revisited?
In the wake of the Oklahoma City Federal bombing, and the
subequent discovery that the deed was done by home-grown, rather
than Arab terrorists, the media has gone into a frenzy of
vituperation and invective against the Militia movement as a
whole. Segments of the Liberal Left, are also joining in the hue
and cry against what is perceived as a threat from the Right, and
some Liberal congresspersons, like Barbara Boxer, are calling for
legislation to "untie" the hands of the FBI, so that they can
shed their kid gloves, and go after the "patriot" militias with
real meat hooks. We ought to remember that "The liberty of one
citizen ends where the liberty of another citizen begins."
Robespierre said that.
We should deplore the bombing of the Federal Building in Oklahoma
City -- whoever did it. We may also vehemently disagree with the
notion that positive or progressive change in society can be
effected by taking up the gun or the bomb. I myself am a Quaker
and agree essentially with the political methods of Jesus and
Ghandhi, but I also believe that the right to bear arms is an
essential aspect of the Bill of Rights. Furthermore, remember
that, in order to effectively terrorize the masses during the
Third Reich, the Nazis had to first disarm the civilian
population. Indeed, for those with eyes to see it, a similar
pattern to the blueprint laid down by the Third Reich is in
transit today. It is more insidious today in that it is not
happening under an overt Nazi, like Hitler, but under a
"Liberal," Clinton.
In 1933, Hitler achieved the elegant solution of dismantling once
and for all the Weimar Constitution and its parliament and also
of sending his enemies, the Social-democrats, Communists, and
Trade-Union leaders into the nascent concentration camps by
having his henchmen burn down the Reichstag, the German
parliament, and blaming the deed on the Communists. Today, the
CIA, and the government have long since perfected the technology
of programming zombie-terrorist assassins, and the like.
McVeigh, a veteran of the Gulf War, who himself said that he was
implanted with a micro-chip, may very well be an "expendable
asset" of the CIA and a product of the Monarch Project.
We are living in a critical period. At the time of the Gulf War,
much of the Left was seriously concerned about the significance
of the "New World Order" that George Bush had unveiled with
considerable fanfare in 1990. It was, after all, the same term
Hitler had used as a synonym for the Third Reich. Today,
however, a sizable segment of the same "Left" that was alarmed
about the New World Order then, is in denial, and is treating the
phrase as if it were the product of "Right-wing conspiracy
thinking." But the New World Order -- the Global Regime of the
Multi-National Corporations -- is proceding apace, even though
Clinton and other front-men have ceased to pay public lip-service
to it.
And now the power elite considers it time to disarm and
emasculate the political power of the masses. This is the real
significance if the Omnibus Crime Bill -- Bush's Crime Bill
recycled -- and the Counter-Terrorism Act of 1995. The power
elite are well aware that implementing these Acts may lead to
civil war, but they are confident that, through their henchmen in
the Army, FEMA, and the BATF, they have sufficient fire-power to
deal with all contenders. And they do. That is why today, more
than ever, we need a non-violent grass-roots movement of
Resistance on the order of the movements lead by Ghandhi and
Martin Luther King. You can not fight fire with fire. You can
only fight fire with water.
Note: I am not calling for a Black Front like the alliance of
National Bolsheviks and Strasser-tendency Nazis that brought down
the Weimar Republic. For all its flaws, I am still for the U.S.
Constitution. We should get beyond the labels that divide us as
a people and realize that the struggle is in the nature of Class
War, and not on the level of "Left" versus "Right." The common
people, whether they be black, white, yellow, or brown, male or
female, left, right, or center, are being steamrolleredby the
domestic policies of the New World Order. The multinationals are
now running the world.
We should also realize that the "patriot networks" for all their
errors of judgment, are privy to certain pieces of information
that do not generally waft across the airwaves of the
cartel-owned mass-media. This is one of the reasons they are so
wound up. One such current piece of deep disinformation is a
video entitled America Under Siege, which issues from the offices
of one Linda Thompson attorney and "patriot" of Indianapolis,
Indiana. This is the same Linda Thompson who made an earlier
film about the siege and conflagration of the Branch Davidian
commune at Waco, Texas. She was also organizing an armed "March
on Washington" that was scheduled to roll into the Capital on
September 21, 1994, until her good buddy William Cooper
(U.F.Ologist and "former" Naval Intelligence operative) persuaded
her to call it off.
In short, Linda Thompson may be an agent provocateur. This is
how containment works: the right-wing language (dialectics) in
which this video is delivered serves to repel or "turn off" most
people from the left to the center. In intelligence lingo, this
is called "black propaganda" or a "modified limited hangout."
I observed this phenomenon at the thirtieth year reunion of the
Free Speech Movement at the I-House in Berkeley last December,
when someone played this video after the showing of Freedom on My
Mind, a film about Mississippi Freedom Summer, 1964. Ninety
percent of the audience couldn't stomach the nationalistic patois
of Linda Thompson's relentless delivery and walked out before
they saw the really important sequences.
America Under Siege has actual footage of a vacant concentration
camp facility at Beech Grove, Indiana, just outside of
Indianapolis, recently converted to the tune of more than $2
million from a railroad yard where locomotives were repaired.
The footage is convincing and very, very scary. The former
locomotive barn, all apertures and former windows bricked off
with cinder blocks, has been retrofitted with huge gas conduits
on all four sides and four enormous gas furnaces. The viewer is
forced to ask, "Is this facility (built in the last two years
with U.S. tax dollars appropriated by Senator Lugar of Indiana)
intended for the same purpose that Aushwitz served the Nazis?"
Dachau also was just outside of Munich.
Ironically, the only other outlet that I am aware of that has
released information about dormant concentration-camp facilities
within the United States has been the Revolutionary Worker, the
paper of the Maoist tendency Revolutionary Communist Party of
"Chairman Bob" Avakian. The Revolutionary Worker printed
front-page articles about the existence of such facilities after
the Gulf War, in the Spring of 1991.
Not so ironically, perhaps, the sectors of the political spectrum
that are privy to this information, the "patriot" groups of the
radical right and the RCP on the radical left, have moved in the
last nine months into the phase of preparation for armed
struggle. I refer to the Manifesto of Resistance of January 4,
1995, posted by the RCP throughout the Mission District in San
Francisco, and the rapid growth of the militia movement
throughout the country.
While I cannot vouch for the purity of Linda Thompson's
motivation in presenting this information before the eye of the
public, I can say that everyone I know who has patiently watched
the whole video has been shaken to the core. The footage of the
facility at Beech Grove, Indiana, would be hard to fake. If this
is real, then the Government is clearly out of control. If it is
disinformation, then we must ask, "Why? Who is the Right Wing --
or the Government -- trying to set up, or fool?" If it has a
legitimate purpose, we would like to hear about it. If readers
