I've read LaHaye's Act of Marriage. While some of his descriptions of
the physicality may be considered "quaint" in our jaded age, his main
thesis is that 90% of the sexual relationship takes place OUTSIDE the
bedroom. In other words, if a couple engages in nagging, criticizing,
bickering, silent treatment, etc., they are going to have a lousy sex
life. Wheat says the same thing. Most of the Christian marriage writers
emphasize what Zig Ziglar calls "courtship after marriage" that is,
treating your spouse as kindly and courteously as you treat your
co-workers or friends.
