-Caveat Lector- WJPBR Email News List [EMAIL PROTECTED] Peace at any cost is a prelude to war! Dear Brigade, The following letter is written by a long time GOP activist and congressional candidate. Just as Pat Buchanan recently did in October, Robert Sharpe has formally resigned from the GOP and joined the Reform Party. He is currently preparing to collect signatures to put himself on the Texas ballot as a candidate for the U.S. Congress from the state of Texas. He is also mounting a petition drive for Pat so that he will be on the Texas ballot as the Reform Party presidential nominee. What Robert is doing is exactly what we need to do. In every state, lets find outstanding members of the Brigade and put them on the November ballot along with Pat Buchanan. We have an opportunity to build the Reform Party in every state -- but even more exciting -- we finally have the ability to elect candidates who support our Cause. Brigade, start thinking about this. Maybe there is someone you know who would be an excellent candidate. Don't send me any suggestions yet - because guess what - thats right, I'm going to write another form!! Read what Robert has written below. With Pat, he is another reason why I am proud to be a member of the Reform Party. GO BRIGADE GO!!!!!!!!!!! Linda ----------------- From: "Robert P. Sharpe" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Sharpe joins Reform Party states Republicans are AWOL December 3, 1999 Dear Family, Friends and Fellow Americans: I have lost faith and trust with the leadership of the Republican Party. A wife should never trust her husband with the title to their home if he were going to Las Vegas to gamble. I believe you and I have trusted, the Establishment of both parties, for far too, long with the title to our country. The Internationalists and Insiders in Washington are willing to gamble with our birthright, our inheritance. They are willing to surrender the sovereignty of this great Republic on the altar of a "New World Order." I am not willing to pay the cost of their grand utopian vision of the World with the most precious creation that my wife and I have, our three Sons, Christopher, Perry and Sam. Guinn and I refuse to offer our sons on the altar of some "New World Order." I want to be able to look my sons in the eyes and say your Dad knew there was a great threat facing our country and he did all that he could to do something about it. As many of you are aware, I have been a Republican Party activist since I was ten years old. I handed out Ronald Reagan pencils to write Reagan in as a candidate in 1976. In 1980, as a freshman in high school, I again worked for the Reagan campaign as a phone bank volunteer. In 1984 I joined the United States Marine Corps and served the American people for five honorable years under the leadership of President Ronald Reagan. For three generations my family has fought hard and contributed to conservative Republican statesmen like Barry Goldwater, Ronald Reagan, and Patrick J.Buchanan. In 1996 I served on the Texas Republican Party State Credentials Committee. I was elected as a National Delegate to the Republican National Convention in San Diego because of my willingness to stand and defend our party's Platform and my pledge to only vote for a pro-life Republican vice-presidential nominee. At the national convention I witnessed our party's nominee Bob Dole state: "the party platform is irrelevant - no one ever reads it." In June 1998 I served you and the Texas Republican Party as a member of the State Platform Committee from Senate District 13. There were 31 members on the platform committee plus the Chairman. We spent three days prior to the convention drafting a state party platform from the resolutions submitted by the senate district conventions to present a platform to the 13,000 plus delegates at the state convention. The delegates then debated, amended, accepted or rejected the resolutions drafted by the platform committee. Five months after the Republican State convention Governor Bush "disavowed the state party platform, saying he hadn't even read it." Dallas Morning News November 15, 1998. The arrogance of elected Republicans was a major factor behind the adoption of Rule 43 of the Republican Party of Texas. Rule No. 43 - Candidate Platform Questionnaire "Any candidate running as a Republican for any public office on any ballot in the State of Texas shall be provided a Texas Republican Party Platform Questionnaire, upon which each candidate may indicate for each plank item whether the candidate agrees, disagrees, or is undecided, as to each plank item, with comments if desired. This questionnaire shall be an outline of the RPT Platform, plank by plank, simplified for ease of response and designed by the SREC. The SREC shall have the questionnaire available to the candidates within nine (9) months after the adoption of the RPT Platform by the RPT Convention Delegates. Candidates for federal or state at-large office should file the completed questionnaire at the time of filing for office with the State Republican Party of Texas in Austin. District and local candidates should file the completed questionnaire with their SREC members(s) or County Chairmen of the districts, or counties, respectively, in which they are running. The Candidate Platform Questionnaire shall be made available by the appropriate party official at reproduction costs to any person requesting such." The adoption of this rule 43 has caused heartburn within the Texas Republican Party. Representatives Tom Delay and Dick Armey have indicated that any candidate complying with rule 43 "can kiss national help good bye." I understand that the leadership may even challenge Rule 43 in the courts. As a Republican Congressional Candidate, for Texas District 25, I was shocked and angry when I heard these comments of intimidation coming from Tom Delay and Dick Armey. On July 22, 1999 I mailed a certified return receipt letter to Tom Delay #P 103-685-689 and Dick Armey #P 103-685-690 asking that they clarify their statements. I have yet to receive a reply from either Representative. On October 27, 1999 I personally visited Tom Delay's and Dick Armey's congressional offices in Washington DC to clarify their position regarding Rule 43. I informed their staff that I would be in Washington all week and would like to meet with them. I never heard from either of them. I was in Washington to attend Pat Buchanan's press conference on Monday October 25, 1999. My 14-year-old son Christopher and I drove from Houston to Washington to attend this event. We made this trip a history field trip since my wife and I are home schooling this year. One of the most impressive sites was the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery and the changing of the Guard. Christopher and I spent about three and one half-hours at Arlington National Cemetery walking the grounds observing and paying our respects to the many thousands of veterans there and at other like cemeteries around the world. On our way home from Washington we saw a news program reporting that Governor Bush stated that he would not debate Pat Buchanan in the national Presidential debates. I turned to Christopher and said, "the Governor should stand before the head stones at Arlington National Cemetery and tell those veterans, who paid the ultimate price for liberty and freedom, that he refuses to debate the issues facing America." Our veterans have given of themselves to defend the Constitution of the United States and to keep America an independent and sovereign Republic. Governor, I respect you as the leader of the great state of Texas, but as a Presidential candidate I have no choice when I say that it is very cowardly to refuse to debate or even read your own party's platform before you disavow it. This brings us back to the Platform and the issues facing you and I and our great Republic. What is in the Platform that the leadership of the party is afraid of? Why are they unwilling to address the concerns of the grassroots of the Republican Party? Is it that they are afraid to talk about the New World Order? The Texas Republican Platform is 23 pages long. Half a page is devoted to the abortion issue. There are many planks that coincide with many of Pat Buchanan's issues and there are many similarities between The Texas Republican Party's Platform and the National Reform Party's Platform. It is time to unite our efforts based on our common fears and concerns facing our Country. Our freedom is at stake. By uniting we can stop their "New World Order." Abraham Lincoln stated "Stand with anybody that stands right. Stand with him while he is right, and part with him when he goes wrong." Below are some quotes from the Republican Party of Texas Platform: "We urge the repeal of NAFTA and GATT and withdraw from membership in the WTO" "The party urges Congress to stop funding the IMF" "We support legislation requiring due process of law upholding the 4th and 5th amendments to the US Constitution" "We oppose the federalization and militarization of local police forces" ". . . revocation of Presidential Decision Directive 13 and 25" ". . . the disengagement from countries in which we have no clear national defense interest" ". . . all US forces remain under the command and control of the Commander in Chief and his military chain of command" ". . . we strongly recommend the removal of communist China's Most Favored Nations status" ". . . the party deplores the existence of foreign military bases on American soil" "The party calls for a thorough investigation, to be conducted by an independent investigator appointed by the US House of Representatives, to determine whether the Council on Foreign Relations and the Trilateral Commission are promoting the establishment of a one-world government to the determent of US interests and sovereignty" ". . . our nation immediately rescind its membership in, as well as all financial and military contributions to, the UN" ". . . returning immigration quotas to traditional levels in practice prior to 1965 of 300,000 per year or less" "Social Security should be taken off budget" "Social Security funds should not be co-mingled or spent with general revenues" ". . . full disclosure of all on and off budget spending" ". . . defunding and abolition of the National Endowment for the Arts" ". . . the party urges the IRS be abolished and the Sixteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution be repealed" ". . . strongly oppose a system of education such as School-to-Work" ". . . we call for the abolition of the U.S. Department of Education and the prohibition of the transfer of any of its functions to any other federal agency" Our Republican leadership has been missing in action; in fact they have never shown up for battle! They have deserted the battlefield. My wife's, grandmother, Mrs. Alta Abernathy, lives with us. Her only major medical problem is that she is blind. While listening to the Impeachment hearings of President Clinton, she asked my wife what oral sex was. You have not lived until you have had the opportunity to explain to your 96 year-old grandmother what oral sex is. Let me tell you one term that Mrs. Abernathy would have understood. TREASON. Yes treason. She would have fully understood the terms treason, bribery, corruption, illegal foreign campaign contributions. This comes back to the point of the Republican leadership being AWOL. While the Communist Chinese are stealing our nuclear technology, seizing control of the Panama Canal through Communist owned front companies like Hutchison-Whampoa, and financially contributing to American candidates we are debating lying about sex under oath. Yes perjury by the chief law enforcement officer of the land is important, however this was used as a distraction while these other issues just fade away. Rear Admiral Thomas Moore, former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, issued a press statement on November 23, 1999 stating: "China is preparing to take over the Panama Canal once the United States relinquishes control." He warned of "possible Chinese use of the area to launch a nuclear attack on America." "China's missiles can carry a nuclear payload or an explosive payload, and they can also be mounted on a truck and moved around - and, therefore, very difficult to keep track of." "The Chinese threat is more difficult to handle than the Cuban missile crisis was." Fellow Americans it appears as if America is being set up for failure. Our national security has been compromised. This has taken place while Republicans have been in control of the United States Congress. The United States Congress has a Constitutional mandated responsibility of oversight of the Executive branch of government. Our elected Senators and Representatives have take an oath to support the Constitution of the United States: The Congressional Oath of Office: "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion, and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God." The Korean conflict (undeclared War) was halted by the signing of an armistice between the United States and our ally South Korea and the enemy in which our brave men in uniform fought, the North Koreans and the Peoples Republic of China. This conflict has never been resolved. A formal peace treaty has yet to be signed to bring this conflict (war) to a formal end. This is why we still have American forces deployed on the 38th parallel. The inscription on the Korean War Memorial in Washington D.C. reads as follows: "Our nation honors her sons and daughters who answered the call to defend a country they never knew and a people they have never met." When our country is still technically in a state of war you do not give the Panama Canal to your adversary. Where are the Republicans in Congress? Are they raising money for re-election, raising their pay, on a junket, or watching Sex, Lies and Videotapes of our President, Bill Clinton? In March of 1995 a "Thesis on Peacekeeping and U.N. Operational Control: A Study of Their Effect On Unit Cohesion" by Ernest G. Cunningham, Lieutenant Commander, United States Navy was distributed to the following members of Congress: Senators Nickles, Santorum, Phil Gramm, Helms, Mack, Hatch and Representatives Dornan, Armey, Combest, Cunningham, Canady, and Gingrich. This thesis on unit cohesion, under United Nations operational control, asked forty-six (46) questions of young enlisted combat Marines stationed at Twenty Nine Palms, California. It was called "Combat Arms Survey" Listed below are some of the questions asked of our United States Marines. I believe you will be as outraged at this line of questioning of young enlisted Marines, who have sworn an oath of allegiance to our Constitution the document that binds all of us together. Please remember; this thesis was distributed to Republican leaders and again you and I have heard nothing from them. Question 35: "U.S. combat troops should participate in U.N. missions under United Nations command and control." Question 39: "I feel the President of the United States has the authority to pass his responsibilities as Commander-in-Chief to the U.N. Secretary General." Question 40: " I feel there is no conflict between my oath of office and serving as a U.N. soldier." Question 42: "I feel a designated unit of U.S. combat soldiers should be permanently assigned to the command and control of the United Nations." Question 44: "I would like U.N. member countries, including the U.S. to give the U.N. all the soldiers necessary to maintain world peace." Question 45: "I would swear to the following code: 'I am a United Nations fighting person. I serve in the forces which maintain world peace and every nation's way of life. I am prepared to give my life in their defense." Question 46: "The U.S. government declares a ban on the possession, sale, transportation, and transfer of all non-sporting firearms. A thirty day amnesty period is permitted for these firearms to be turned over to the local authorities. At the end of this period, a number of citizen groups refuse to turn over their firearms. Consider the following statement: I would fire upon U.S. citizens who refuse or resist confiscation of firearms banned by the U.S. government." Where was the outrage in Congress over this line of treasonous questioning and surveying of United States Combat Marines? Again AWOL!!! In the April1974 edition of Foreign Affairs an American Quarterly Review, published by the Council on Foreign Relations, Inc. Richard N. Gardner, our current Ambassador to Spain, wrote his essay titled: "The Hard Road To World Order." I would like to share with you some profound quotes that were made twenty-five (25) years ago. "In short, the 'house of world order' will have to be built from the bottom up rather than from top down. It will look like a great 'booming, buzzing confusion,' to use William James famous description of reality, but an end run around national sovereignty, eroding it piece by piece, will accomplish much more than the old-fashioned frontal assault." "As in the case of the U.S. Constitution, we are more likely to make progress by pressing the existing instrument to the outer limits of its potentialities through creative use, seeking amendments only on carefully selected matters where they seem both necessary and capable of adoption by the constitutionally required majority." ". . . not just multinational corporations but international associations of every kind in which like-minded persons around the world weave effective patterns of global action." "GATT shall be construed 'to prevent any contracting party from taking any action which it considers necessary for the protection of its essential security interests... taken in time of war or other emergency in international relations. . ." ". . . even as nations resist appeals for 'world government' and 'the surrender of sovereignty', technological, economic and political interests are forcing them to establish more and more far-reaching arrangements to manage their mutual interdependence." "The road to world order will be a long and hard one, but since the short cuts do not lead anywhere we have no choice but to take it." Let me make one correction the road back to a sovereign and constitutional Republic will be a hard one, however you and I are duty bound to travel this road back to an independent America not just for us but for our future posterity. Currently on line at the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) web site, www.fbi.gov, is a report titled "Y2K Project Megiddo." In this report organizations such as the John Birch Society and individuals that are concerned about the "New World Order" have been targeted. "Many extremist individuals and groups place some significance on the next millennium, and as such it will present challenges to law enforcement at many levels. The significance is based primarily upon either religious beliefs relating to the Apocalypse or political beliefs relating to the New World Order (NWO) conspiracy theory. The challenge is how well law enforcement will prepare and respond." It makes me feel very insecure knowing that the law enforcement arm of the Federal Government is establishing a dossier on individuals like myself who believe in the New World Order. The only comforting thought is knowing that I am not alone. There is a man running for President who is equally concerned about the loss of our national sovereignty, the end-run around our Constitution, and eroding it piece by piece, all of which leads to the Internationalist's New World Order. You may have heard of this man, his name is Patrick J. Buchanan. Pat Buchanan may not win the Presidency. He may be elected as the captain of the gulag, but I will honorably serve as his lieutenant. He and I are not alone. A majority of Republican activist and delegates to the 1996 and 1998 Republican Party of Texas conventions agree with us, as they have expressed in the state party platform. I have reached a point where I fear my government, and the Republican Party; a party that my family has stood by faithfully, has done nothing to allay that fear. I have been a Republican activist not a Republican loyalist. I am a loyalist to the Constitution of the United States of America. The Republican leadership has been derelict in their duty to uphold the Constitution. After many sleepless nights and prayerful devotions, I have made the decision that I must withdraw my candidacy for the 25th congressional district of Texas. Principle dictates that I must resign my membership in the Republican Party. I am joining the Buchanan effort to help Pat win the Reform Party nomination and secure ballot access for the Reform Party of Texas. My wife Guinn has been elected as the Chairwomen for the Harris County Reform Party. I encourage other principled Americans to become involved within the Reform Party. It has become apparent that the only hope we have in confronting this "New World Order" is within the Reform Party. As I draw this to a close, let me end by quoting President John F. Kennedy: "In the long history of the world, only a few generations have been granted the role of defending freedom in its hour of maximum danger. I do not shrink from this responsibility - I welcome it." Unfortunately the U.S. Constitution is dying a slow death. I want to be a breath of life joining with you and many other Americans who have given up hope. Together we can breathe new life into our Constitution. God bless you, your family, and this great Republic known as the United States of America. Sincerely, Robert P.
