Yes, I was going to point that out... :-)
Here in the southern New England, NYC metro area, most male nurses or
nursing students I've met are married and changing careers from something
else to nursing -- some may have had prior medical training, such as EMT
techs or paramedics, a couple were ex-prison guards...but most were laid
off from office jobs and went into nursing because it's a field that's
growing...

Well, I also take exception to your categorization of female nurses
being nothing but prostitutes in medical garb....
