Giuliani never had plans to spend New Years Eve in the underground bunker...
he DID spend some time early in the evening in the emergency center in the
World Trade Center (which isn't underground), then after making an
appearance
on the early broadcast of the Letterman Show, spent the rest of the time in
Times Square...
But what I find strange about the new Times Square New Year's ball is not
it's design -- after all, the laws of geometry and Buckminster Fuller sort
of preclude anything but an interconnecting network of triangles...
No, what I found strange was the announcement (in one of the live broadcasts
from Times Square last night) by a Waterford spokesman that this particular
ball is NOT going to be used again...
Hundred of thousands of dollars spent on it, and for some reason it's only
being used once. I don't know about anyone else, but I was under the
impression that it was going to be reused...
But according to the Waterford spokesman, his company is even now working on
the design and manufacture of yet another ball, which will be used next
year...
When asked what will happen to the ball that was used last night, the
spokeman was extremely vague, claiming he wasn't sure where it would go,
that
'perhaps' it would 'go on tour before its retirement'...begging the question
of WHERE its permanent home would be...

Well, unless seeing an aging Tom Jones is considered magical...
There was some controversy over the fireworks display mounted on the
Washington Monument...the National Parks Service tried to stop it, worried
that it would mar the monument, but they were overridden by Clinton...
But from what I saw last night, I'm less concerned that they turned the
Washington Monument into a white trash blinking Christmas display, but that
they used the Lincoln Memorial as a venue for a cheap, white trash, "Las
Vegas east" floor show...
No, nothing 'magical', only cheap and tawdry...

Yeah, well what's your take on the Pyramid Production...seems to me there
were
all sorts of predictions for amazing things to happen due to the show
(ritual?)
done there, but what I saw was just as cheap and tawdry as the D.C. show...
And I didn't see any alien ships landing. No opening portals. No ancient
Egyptian gods were resurrected...
