My father was a Mason, as is my brother-in-law, and both of them were and
are good Christian men. The Mason organization in my opinion was created as
a subterfuge--as a method to control the flow of business. Men who wanted
to make money out of contacts with others higher up on the economic scale
were attracted to masonic lodges for that reason. But they could only
advance into the higher degrees by proving their ability to keep secrets and
to do what was required without asking questions. Men who did not aspire to
great wealth and indicate a willingness to be pawns are allowed to pursue
the charitable hobbies of the organization. This acts as a front for the
organization's true purposes. The bankers and venture capitalists want to
ensure that only the companies they have investments in get the contracts
with other companies. Masonry serves as a network between these investors
to promote the growth of industry in an organized way so that contracts are
always fulfilled by company men. Most Masons never know that's what's going
on unless they sell their souls to the men above them.
