</A> -Cui Bono?-

There may be a quote by someone whose name everyone recognises somewhere but
since researching my recollection for the speicificity of the words and source
of same, I'll just suggest that those who see the errors of their ways and try
to reverse directions to rapidly tend to do so to extreme. It' a matter of
redoubling one's efforts in order to counter, combat, nullify the past.

What I've learned of JR is trying to equal his sire (SR) in all areas from
being a college dude then a pilot then an oiler then sport then a candidate.
What is apparent though is he never quite measures up ... SR was a more
distinguished intellect, an active duty (vs weekend worrier) hero, a (somewhat)
self-made successful oil prospector, a respectable baseball player (JR had to
buy a team to play), JR lost his first try at electoral office. A side note,
if Hatfield is accurate in *Fortunate Son*, is that JR was his mother's
caretaker (following sister Robin's expiration) and companion (while SR was off
prospecting). This, of course, points to the absent father and explains some
of the competition. I'll leave it up to the Sigmundoids to figger out the
sighkologic of the rest. DuhB-ya might be a presidential contender, alright,
but I think his chief opponent is his sire.
