It appears that Aprils' counter suits against Singlaub and CNN are very strong indeed. I hope ol Jack's got a lot set aside from his merc days. It barely scratches the surface, but considering its origins, I consider it a draw. The article started out as a Singlaub puff piece but the reporter did his homework and listened to what I had to say carefully. He didn't get the critical Army Navy Club notes until very late in the game-Singlaub has been waving an early statement around as his definitive one (the same way CNN was doing with Moorer)but they were not their final words on the matter. It is true that Singlaub first put me on to nerve gas-but I didn't report that in Secret Warriors because it was way way too early, I didn't have enough supporting evidence. We had more than enough for Tailwind, but of course we didn't have proof beyond a reasonable doubt -- Ted Turner's new standard. At least the reporter reviewed the handwritten notes, put in the reversal and concurred we used information accurately. The article certainly was not the puff piece Singlaub was expecting. On another front, Moorer was deposed recently and it is a stunning deposition. He reviews my notes line by line and affirms their accuracy. He ties Kissinger to Tailwind, and he ties a handwritten note by him to the White House to a request for "poison gas." There are quite a few other statements, and maybe the court will mean vindication for me after all.
