Ironically, parts of the military itself would seem to operate in this secretive fashion too, where discipline and loyalty are supreme values. The Cosa Nostra is a secret organization just like the others, and it seems that those societies and organizations fit well together with covert intelligence organizations, as well as political leadership who end up dealing with both groups. Indeed, perhaps the drug cartels also operate under formal rules of secrecy and loyalty. Wouldn't the "ideal" leader be the trained, let's say, in Skull and Bones and the Masons, and then works through CIA and elements in the drug cartels and/or Mafia, holding meetings at the Bildebergers??! It's a perfect marriage.....where bankers and power brokers do their thing for themselves. I would doubt that a small college in Kansas, Alaska or Wyoming has a branch of Skull and Bones where a graduate goes on to join some secret social club and become a major player in a covert intelligence organization and attend Bildeberger meetings......unless the established groups recruit a "shining star" to their ranks (i.e. a Colin Powell) via the military. On the other hand, if an individual (including the proverbial Kansas graduate) makes his connections through an alternative route, i.e. through the Mafia or drug cartels, he may get to be very important (such as a Barry Seal or a Mayer Lansky) to those elites. Finally, there would be those consummate professional/military covert operatives whose importance can grow by virtue of what they do and know, such as a Felix Rodriguez, Oliver North, etc.....
