ONE LIST INFO I GOT:

==================================

I'm passing on this message since it pertains to onelist and how they
send mail through - not that I have seen much language on this list that
I would object too, if they consider skin objectionable we could all be
in trouble.......

Onelist has added a new feature that some might find objectionable and
some might find desirable. They have added something called a "Family
Filter", which filters out list e-mail that might have language some
people don't want to see in their e-mail. The first problem is THEY
DIDN'T NOTIFY MEMBERS and they added the feature and added it TURNED ON
!!! It has been slowing down the mail but worst af all, is that it's
keeping some mail from getting through.
HOW TO *TURN OFF* THE "FAMILY FILTER"
Go to www.onelist.com
once you are logged on make sure you are on their home page. You should
see a section right on the page that says "Join a Group"--just BELOW
those words you should see the search area, and right above the space
where you type in what you're searching for, you should see the words
"Family Filter On" . Click right on those words to turn it off, if
turning it off is what you choose to do. If, as some people have, you
find the filter says it's off the first time you check, you can just
leave it that way, or click right on the words to turn it on, if that's
what you prefer. When you're finished, whatever your "on" or "off"
preference is, click on "done", This will turn the Family Filter off and
you will receive all your onelist e-mail without their automatic
filtering.
I suggest you write and complain, and let any other Onelist groups you
are with know about this. The issue is not the filter itself, but the
fact that they added this feature and turned it on without telling their
users, and without letting them know they had a choice. I noticed that I
was not receiving a lot of my Onelist mail and my lists seemed
abnormally quiet for the last couple of days. I want to receive all my
list mail and decide *for myself* what I want to read and what I'm not
interested in. Everyone has different needs and some might like the
filter being on, but I do not!
