Subject: [Robot-for-President] Quantum Powering of Micro/Nano-Robots.

Now that's interesting. Kurzweil (1999) is highly "bearish" on quantum
computing, saying that (future) quantum computing is to digital computing
as a hydrogen bomb is to a firecracker. (p. 112). Now imagine nano- or
just miniature robots with quantum artificial brains and quantum energy
supplies. Before 2099 he expects supercomputing power to be microscopic in
size. (p. 257). Bill Joy's "nanophobia" in spades. Moratorium on
nanotech? Nano-chance of this I would say. The best we can hope for is
some guidelines on genetic and reproductive technologies from
Mssrs. Manley and Rock. How is that new legislation coming along?

 Plasma antennas (2000-04-02 18:24:12)
 http://rsphysse.anu.edu.au/~ggb112/index.html
Plasma antennas are radiofrequency antennas that employ plasma as the
guiding medium for electromagnetic radiation. Conventional antennas employ
either metal to support antenna currents necessary for radiating
electromagnetic fields or dielectric materials (e.g. plastics such as
teflon) to redirect or reform an electromagnetic wavefront.

The ProcessTree Network was created to bring two groups together: those
who have huge computing jobs to do; and millions whose computers just sit
idle much of the time. With the ProcessTree Network those BIG computing
jobs can get done faster and cheaper, and people can turn there computers
 idle time into money.

According to quantum field theory every point in space contain a unlimited
 amount of energy.
On this web site Quantum Fields LLC explain how they plan to power
 micro-machines with this energy.

Digital Inter Relay Communication (DIRC) (2000-03-22 15:43:23)
 http://www.dirc.net/development/index.html
The basic idea of DIRC is a self learning, intelligent, and self
organising network of small transmitting and receiving stations which
operate permanently for the network. The links between the DIRC´s are
build up on radio transmission links. Subscribers in the DIRC network
communicates with each other by assistance of the relay functions of DIRC
 stations in between.

New approach to levitating trains. (2000-01-19 18:12:07)
 http://www.llnl.gov/str/Post.html
Lawrence Livermore scientists have recently developed a new approach to
magnetically levitating high-speed trains that is fundamentally much
simpler in design and operation (requiring no superconducting coils or
stability control circuits), potentially much less expensive, and more
widely adaptable than other maglev systems. The new technology, called
Inductrack, employs special arrays of permanent magnets that induce strong
repulsive currents in a "track" made up of coils, pushing up on the cars
 and levitating them.
