I consider the prophets to be real life people with real life, albeit
sometimes miraculous circumstances. I gather you do not. Do you not
consider Isaiah and Elijah for example to be real life people who had
extraordinary, supernatural experiences?
But the bible is chock full of people who

Correct. G-d spoke to Elijah in a "still, small voice". Perhaps that is
how the prophets get their messages more generally and pass them on to the
rest of us.

When the Traditional Jewish Prayer Book pleads for the coming of the
Messiah, how do you interpret this? In other words, what might this
Messiah be like?
