I don't know who's responsible for the whole charade BUT we can say that some
little 6-year-old (who's been filmed constantly playing with toy guns and
arrows (broken .. symbolism?)) is NOT, in and of himself a responsible human
... unless of course we want to heed the utterances of pre-pubescents ...
The really weird thing is all this noise and chatter about the Marian virgin
being seen in his environs and all this hoopla ... all about some unfortunate
(?) illegal immigrant who lamentably lost his mommy in a boating accident and
now has created an unsensible media sensation ... pointing to: is this little
feller gonna be the vice of Miami's Cubanist culture, eventually to become some
sort of religious figurine (little statuettes on the dash?), figuring into the
Floridian equivalent of a lamentation-derived Asiatic Lama, rescued from the
perilous waters of the Caribbean to be thenceforth thrust up, onto a pedestal
to command the attentions of who knows how many who claim common heritage and
who knows how many who revel in demonstrating a prostrating agape, leaving the
mouths of many more a-gape, as who hoots and hollers by rite for the right of
this exile to be the chosen one to not exit but remain in this glorious
nation...
All the while how many others have to go through the legal bureaucracy over the
course of a year or more to have their cases reviews without the malefic
meddling media monstrosity monotonously murk-muddying mundane mediocracy?
So, I suggest, in summation, with Castro ALMOST going to Seattle, will this be
his "entree' " to normalised relations with us/U.S. ? Maybe Elian should be
henceforth known as "Chip" (as in 'bargaining') ...
