It was in an attachment in an email to the list. It wasn't spoofed. I assume
everyone got it. I've sent the info on which specific email it was to Kris.
Contact him if you're concerned. The offending email was innocently enough
sent. The person sending it is a very nice person, who somehow had this slip
by his up to date virus definitions. It was a .vbs. I went to the archive
page and norton 2000 notified me of it too. I didn't even get the email. My
isp notified me of it and stopped it's delivery to me. I was just warning
others to be wary. It was a an attachment called links.vbs Hope no one
opened it. I don't open any attachment that I am not specifically expecting,
even from a friend, so I wouldn't have opened it anyway.

The virus did NOT come from the CTRL list - it came from a
hidden source. Same thing happened to me about six months ago.
The address "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" is faked (spoofed).

Note that "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" is not the address
you receive your other list messages from -- and certainly,
the "owner" of the CTRL list is not busy sending viruses
directly to you with his address on them.

The only possible way to trace the message is to look at the
original message header - and /or contact your ISP.

Better yet, just keep your virus scanner updated.

 Best of luck.
