In line with my previous post, it sounds like Marisleysis was cast in the role
of either savior or blacksheep prior to Elian...either roles have their own
type of stress...
Sometimes a member of a dysfunctional family where substance abuse is involved
finds themselves cast as both savior AND blacksheep, the 'negative' role being
assigned when the family member fails in the first role.
Is Marisleysis an only child? I suspect that she was cast in the role of
'savior' before Elian, and found the stress of being placed in the role of
being responsible for the emotional well-being of her parents too much to
handle, and the only 'acceptable' way to rebel was to succumb to 'stress' and
require hospitalization. This not only saved her from having to rebel to
such an extent as to be recast as a blacksheep, but also garnered her attention
and sympathy, 2 things I suspect were missing in her upbringing...
What happened starting when she was 17 to cause so much stress in her life that
she required hospitalization? It might be interesting for someone to interview
her classmates, especially highschool classmates, to find out what sort of girl
she was back then, and to find out what happened to her at 17...
