MORE CLINTON CORRUPTION
In yet another example of how the Clinton administration corrupts
everything it touches, the chief federal judge in the District of
Columbia - who assigned the prosecutions of individuals
implicated in various Clinton scandals - is herself now under
investigation.
Chief U.S. District Judge Norma Holloway Johnson bypassed the
normal case-assignment system and directed cases that included
Clinton crony Webster Hubbell and fund-raisers Charlie Trie and
Maria Hsia (of Al Gore's favorite Buddhist temple infamy) to
Clinton-appointed judges.
In an almost unprecedented step, the five-judge panel overseeing
the misconduct complaint against Judge Johnson - a Carter
appointee, it should be noted - has brought in former U.S.
attorney Joe D. Whitley to investigate the matter fully.
Good.
Johnson's actions in the Hubbell and Trie cases first came to
light last summer. At the time, the judge claimed that "politics
was not and is never a factor in our case assignment."
That claim seemed pretty hollow when Rep. Howard Coble (R-N.C.)
subsequently discovered Johnson directed several other
fund-raising cases to Clinton judges - including Hsia's. Here,
Johnson asked the Justice Department to ask that U.S. District
Judge Paul Friedman - a Clinton appointee -hear the case.
True, Whitley served in the Reagan and Bush administrations.
Normally, however, this would be considered irrelevant.
However, as was seen in the case of Ken Starr, the Clintonistas
will stop at nothing to vilify anyone attempting to get to the
truth of any criminal or ethical coverup.
So don't be surprised if the Clinton attack dogs start chewing on
Whitley.
Clearly, he has his work cut out for him. We wish him well.
