If FDR did his job; just who was it that he was working for? He was most
certainly not working for the people of the United States since most wanted
to stay out of another European war.
It was a very costly war in terms of human life. Only a madman wants war, or
someone who knows they will be exempt from fighting it. Hegemony - yes it
put the US at the top of the pyramid so we could spend trillions of dollars
in the cold war as well as lose more lives in more police actions. I doubt
that FDR thought we would come out the leader of the free world when he
pushed us into a war.
