Local men face tests in rape inquiry
Scores of men living near the scene of a rape attack on a 16-year-old girl are to be
DNA tested, police said today.
The teenager was attacked and left for dead as she walked home from a shop in Paston,
Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, on December 10.
Detectives said she was hit over the head with a blunt instrument and dragged into
bushes before being raped.
Detective Superintendent Mark Hopkins said men living near the site would be asked to
provide mouth swabs. The screening operation would start today and last for at least
several days.
The teenager remains in hospital, where her condition is said to be improving.
Detectives have not been able to question her about her ordeal.
