I tend to believe the person who made the post, but of course, I cannot verify it. Perhaps Jim Quinn can verify it. The first post says the following (note the comment about the Vincent Foster case): <<David P. Schippers, Chief Investigative Council for the Clinton Impeachment, and author of SELLOUT, appeared at the Lakeview Lounge in Greensburg, PA courtesy of Jim Quinn's Warroom. Schippers and his lovely wife Jackie were greeted by a crowd of over 500, in the tightly packed dinner hall. Much af what Schippers presented was a restatement of points and facts he brought up in his book. During the question and answer period, he did raise the following points I thought would be of interest to other FReepers: - Schippers seemed to demonstrate a great deal of confidence in Dave Barret, the last remaining OIC.. - Schippers referred to Ken Starr as, "a decent and honorable man," but identified his inexperience as a prosecutor, and consequent lack of a, "killer instinct," as Achilles' heels in Starr's efforts. - Surprisingly, Schippers indicated that in one deposition, Monica was posed a question about how BC had tried to portray her, and she was not aware of the, "nuts & sluts," accusations. When Schippers directed her to Clinton's sworn statements to that effect, her lawyers spirited her from the room. - Schippers doesn't expect Web Hubble to be forthcoming with a whole lot, in spite of Hubble's failure to be pardoned. - Schippers was not aware of any reason Charlie Ruff would have to have been taken out, but was quite adamant about not, "putting anything beyond these people." - Referred to the Vince Foster case as a "botched investigation," and indicated the possibility of two secret service agents that may have relevant information that have not yet been heard from. - Indicated that there was an awareness of Gore/ INS improprieties in the 2000 election. What beats all, however, was an anecdote Schippers told the crowd that he stated he'd never before made public. It seems that after his declarations before the judiciary committee, he was prepared to start packing his bags, and leave D.C. One day, Henry Hyde called him and told him there was aCatholic Priest who wanted to meet with Schippers. Schippers, a Catholic, met with the priest from Ohio. The priest informed Schippers that he must remain in Washington, and "stay the course." The priest, it turns out, was an exorcist, had recently performed an exorcism, and stated that he saw the same evil in ,"those eyes." Schippers, somewhat incredulously stated that he knew Clinton was a bad guy, but c'mon! Did this priest think the president had made a pact with the devil?
