i couldn't see any mention of it in the enquiry link i got the info from
that i pasted but it said that didn't reload and the amount of shots and
that he only used the brownings- there is no explanation about the set up -
if it was home made.

he had no decency- he was a coward who murdered children- he killed himself
because he would not stand up for what he had done.
i know you are being sarcastic, but, reading the text of what he did is so
sad i cannot manage to appriciate any ambiguity regarding him.

well- the point i was trying to make is not applicable to the US at all- i
actually believe that civilians *do* need to arm themselves in america-
because of the amount of circulating weapons.
but my point is that one has more chance of surviving an attack by an
assailant with a blade than an assailant with a gun. of course people can be
killed by any weapon but the danger of the weapons is different. i don't
agree with the "only call the police and be passive til they arrive"
argument at all- but it is different for me here in the UK- i was broken
into while i was sitting here at the puter last summer- dude coming in over
the roof LOL but the fact is i didn't pause for a second to confront him-
never crossed my mind that he would be armed better than me (a climbing
axe)- for them to be armed with a gun would have been bizarre in the
extreme- the probable result of any actual combat (there wasn't in the end)
is more akin to a streetfight than - say- the same example in the US- with
defender and assailant armed with guns... there would be no chase- or fight-
only ranged weapons firing from a distance.
the psychology,the aesthetics of combat is odd. ranged weapons compared with
close combat weapons. that is the difference between our countries- more
than wether the weapons are deadlier or not. i think it makes a difference
to the result of a confrontation. ranged weapons ended the ability of people
to face the consequences of their actions- removes the subjectivity of
killing. removes the strength and seriousness of death, weakens the meaning
of killing a person. it is too easy to kill from distance. empathy is
withdrawn, abstracting of the act and compartmentalisation of it is easy.
close combat is affecting and prolonged and messy- ranged weapons are clean
and as distant emotionally as they are physically.
